Today's FastDraw Play of the Day is a half-court set that helped the Miami Heat extend their lead to double digits in the 4th quarter of their NBA Playoff Game 6 second round clincher. The set isolates one scorer, while getting the ball in the hands of another scorer to attack with options.
James (LJ) enters the ball on the dribble to left wing. Miller (MM) cuts through to ballside corner. Wade (DW) cuts to top to receive pass from James.
James slice cuts across to opposite wing as Battier (SB) screens then pops to wing and Anthony (JA) sets up high ball screen.
Wade has the option to pass to James isolated on the right wing, or to use Anthony's ball screen. Battier pins down for Miller elevating.
Wade attacks off the ball screen looking to 1) score, 2) kick to Miller for 3, 3) hit Anthony on the roll since James' defender will likely not sag off to help, or 4) hit James elevating if his defender is forced to help on the roll.
