Marc Skelton 09/02/2014

The 2014 FIBA World Cup continues to produce lots of stuff coaches can add into their toolbox this season. Here is a baseline out of bounds play Greence used against Puerto Rico that has a bunch of options and very difficult to guard. See More

This Baseline Out of Bounce Play was run ferquently by Davidson College a few years back, when Stephen Curry was the focal point of their offensive attack. It is a great option if you are looking for a quick "3" after a time out or need a open look in a late game situation. See More

Basketball Play - ATO Loop

ATO Loop

In the closing seconds of their Game 5 victory over the LA Clippers (2014 WC Semi-Finals), Thunder head coach Scott Brooks drew up this BLOB which resulted in Westbrook (1) being fouled taking a 3-pointer. Only down 2 points, I was somewhat baffled when Westbrook decided not to attempt the game tying lay-up but rather dribble out and take the contested 3-pointer (which resulted in 3 points because of the foul). Basketball Play - Line Twist

Line Twist

Kyle Gilreath 04/21/2014

Yesterday's 1st round Playoffs Game 1 between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors was an interesting one. For the majority of the 2nd-half, the Raptors PA announcer was the shot clock as the clocks were malfunctioning on both ends of the floor. Jason Kidd drew up the play below with having 3.7 seconds in mind. However, as the Nets broke their timeout, they were informed there was only 2.7 on the shot clock (stop watch). Either way time did not end up being a factor as Pierce was able to break free for this catch & shoot to increase the Nets' lead. See More

High - Twist

This play is a basline inbounds play (BLOB) that is a 1-4 high variation of "Twist" that I posted some time ago. This play can be run well against a man-to-man inbounds defense as opposed to the 1-4 low formation the play usually uses. High - Down

This is the 1-4 high version of a previous baseline inbounds play (BLOB) that I posted called "Down". If a team likes to play man-to-man on BLOBs, we can run this variation from a 1-4 high formation as opposed to the 1-4 low formation that we would typically run. Larry Johnson, Head Women's Basketball Coach, used this set in the 2010-11 season to free up a quick guard cutting off the backscreen. If the cutter gets help from screeners man, then the backscreener has a 3pt FGA. See More
