Favorite Send to FastDrawChicago ran this play in their game 3 win over Brooklyn. Deng had a mismatch and Chicago looked to exploit it from the sideline out of bounds play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play run by the Celtics in their game 3 loss to the Knicks. Terry sets a backscreen for Pierce who got a great look at a layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIsolate your best shooter or driver with this screen the screener action. This is an interesting play because a lot of times the stagger comes on the weak side. This time the stagger is on the strong side, leaving a side of the floor isolated for a drive. This play can be run either to the right or the left. Make sure to practice the footwork of how you want your player to turn after the catch. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play of Boston's game 5 victory of NY. C's looked to get the ball inside to Green isolated. The ball screen paired with the wide pin down forces the defense to make choices. KG set a great screen and Chandler was protecting the basket because of the ball screen. Pierce was left with a wide open 3 point attempt. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1st quarter play ran by the Knicks in thier game 5 loss to Boston. Having Felton set a down screen on Melo should prevent a switch. Much of the Celtics defense is geared to stopping Melo, so having Melo facilitate puts even more pressure on Boston's defense. Chandler set a great screen and Felton curled it perfectly for the open jumper. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play ran by Denver in their 92-88 game 6 loss to the Warriors. Although 1 did not take a great shot, forced late clock jumper, I liked the dribble hand off action, and 4 screening 5 into the ball screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play of the second half for the Warriors in their close out game six win. There are four screens in this set-two down screens, a ball screen, and a flare screen. Bogut set a great screen and Curry delivered an on time and on target pass for this open three point shot See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Bulls ran this baseline out of bounds play with two seconds left in the first half of their 99-93 game 7 win over Brooklyn. The timing is important on this play. Have 4 set the back screen, then 5 set a backscreen as 4 is pinning down. Boozers man did not protect the basket and Boozer cut to the basket for a dunk. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Bulls ran this play in the second quarter of their game one win over Miami. It is a simple Horns set which isolates a guard on the block. If you have a guard who is good as posting up and and has a mismatch inside, this is a great way to get the ball close to the basket. Keep in mind 4 and 5 have to step out and work to get open in order to feed the ball to the guard on the block. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMiami ran this play in their game 1 loss to the Bulls. Running Allen over the top of James and Anderson and having Miller spot up in the corner shifts the defense to the left. Noah got disconected from Anderson while helping on Wade coming off of the ball screen. x4 (Boozer) did not enter the lane because he had Mike Miller spotted up in the corner. Anderson was able to get deep post position inside of Boozer because the floor was spaced. NBA players are so good at the throw back pass off the ball screen x3 did not help on the roll man. This defensive rotation breakdown is not typical of Coach Thibodeaus team. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOKC ran this set midway through the third quarter of game 2. At this point Durant had only taken 9 shots. He had the ball in his hands a lot and was facilitating for his teamates. This was a great set to get him a touch with the ball out of his hands. After he hit this shot he got it rolling to finish out the quarter. The UCLA Ball Screen-Stagger is a common set with a lot of options, many of which are posted on FastModel. Reversing the ball back to a shooter coming off a pin down is a great option. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOKC ran this play to open the second half of their game 2 loss to the Grizzlies. It used a dribble hand off and pin down to get an open jump shot for their best player. This play shows that it's invaluable to have a great screen setter like Perkins to free up a great shooter like Durant. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFirst play Memphis ran in the second half of their game 2 win over OKC. This is a great set play that involves backscreens and cuts to the rim. This puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Although Memphis did not get a great shot attempt, there are multiple opportunities to score on this play. Starting the point guard in the corner allowed a little-big back screen and allows the best passes to feed the best post player isolated on the block. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOlympiacos ran this set with less than two minutes left in the first half of their Euroleague semi final win over CSKA. It is a relatively simple play, with the guards looping to set up a side ball screen, but the corner drift and flare from 4 to 1 kept the weak side defense occupied to free up the roll man. 2 could have passed to 3 in the corner, 1 coming off the flare, 4 slipping a screen, 4 stepping out after setting the screen, or 5 could have popped after setting the screen.
