Basketball Play - Toronto Raptors - Horns Down SLOB

Toronto Raptors - Horns Down SLOB

Cooper Smither 02/21/2018

The Toronto Raptors have utilized elements of the Flex offense throughout their playbook over the years. A consistent setting that Head Coach Dwane Casey has displayed with Flex actions in is out-of-bounds plays This set leverages the team's guards and their versatility as finishers, screeners, and perimeter shooters. Additionally, that versatility allows the team to invert their personnel's positioning on the court and put the defense in unusual scenarios. See More

Toronto Raptors - Horns 4 Iso

Cooper Smither 01/11/2019

With Nick Nurse taking over as the Head Coach of the Toronto Raptors for the 2018-19 season, he introduced a myriad of new plays and actions to the offense that he reportedly had a significant influence over during Dwane Casey's previous tenure. This play, loosely out of Horns formation, leverages the unique skillset of Toronto's emerging star in Pascal Siakam. By creating a large gap for Siakam to attack the closeout, and clearly scripting the play in a manner that Siakam is instructed to make the catch "on the run," Toronto has been able to score effectively on this simple action. Basketball Play - 4 Out 1 In Motion Offense

4 Out 1 In Motion Offense

Shannon Clancy 04/18/2018

This 4 out, 1 in motion style offense is not a patterned or continuity style offense, but rather a set of rules designed to give players the ability to read and react to the defense. This offense is easy to learn yet hard to perfect. It's also very hard to scout and prepare for once fully implemented, due to its read and react nature. It is best used by teams that are guard heavy, but can be adjusted to fit any type of lineup. Jr. Wizards Coaches Manual See More

Basketball Play - Beating a Zone Press Using Side / Middle / Reverse

Beating a Zone Press Using Side / Middle / Reverse

Shannon Clancy 04/18/2018

Concept - Beating A Zone Press Using Side / Middle / Reverse There are many ways to break full court pressure - and they can change based on the type of pressure you're facing. Whatever you decide, remember these three words - side, middle, reverse. When playing tough full court zone pressure teams it can sometimes feel as if there's 12 defenders on the court - but of course there are only 5, and 2 of them are guarding one player. This leaves 3 players to guard your remaining 4, and at least one of them will likely start long, protecting the rim. Jr. Wizards Coaches Manual See More
