Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Milwaukee Bucks opened game 4 against the Toronto Raptors with this play designed to get a lob dunk to 5 and help get the home crowd going to start the game. 1 follows the entry pass to 5 get the ball back on a handoff. 2 then sets the back screen on 5 putting the defense at a size disadvantage at the rim and forcing x2 to try to protect on the lob. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls became the first 8-seed, in NBA history, to take a 2-0 lead in a best of 7 series. Late in the third quarter, with the Celtics on a run, the Bulls went to this set. It resulted in a wide open 3 for rookie, Paul Zipser. He knocked down the triple, and the Bulls never looked back. This false motion set, leads to a double down screen, which creates numerous options. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens ran this ATO set in the first half of Game 1, against the Chicago Bulls. It resulted in back-to-back baskets for the Celtics. The first basket was a lob. On the second basket, the Celtics ran the set all the way through. The key to the set is that the Celtics used their best shooter to set the back screen, which eliminated the Bulls' ability to help. More coaches should use their best shooters as a screener, when their team is in need of an easy basket. Great design by Coach Stevens! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics ran this ATO in their playoff opener against the Chicago Bulls to get an easy basket at the rim. The dribble handoff and ball reversal actions are used to clear a side of the floor for the lob and get the defense to focus on stopping 1. In order to take the lob away x1 needs to drop and protect the rim, but he would run the risk of 1 getting open for a shot. The Celtics run a similiar action to this play where 1 is the primary option and will get the ball back on a handoff from 4. In this play x1 is focused on stopping 1 and doesn't provide help on the back screen. This gets 3 a wide open look on the lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw3 (Gordon Hayward) is denied the ball, so 5 pops out for an elbow catch from 1. 2 (Rodney Hood) setting backscreen for 4 forces X2 to help on the backcut allowing 2 to sprint into a DHO with 5 for an open shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGregg Popovich dribble weave set. While it can change based on personnel and spots, the objective is to get an action similar to their Motion Weak offense out of a dribble handoff set. They push one player backdoor and raise another, hoping their defenders run into each other. There is also an easy counter to cut backdoor if the defense snuffs it out and denies the pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe "Pistol Action" has become very popular with teams at all levels. The LA Clippers ran this BLOB in Game 1 of their first round match-up against the Utah Jazz. It resulted in a wide open look. The play features multiple options. The double stagger flows into "Pistol Action." With a decision maker like Chris Paul, look for the Clippers to use this action in a variety of ways. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe initial rub screen from 1 is decoy action to allow him a step ahead of his defender as he sprints into the DHO with 5. Because X1 has to help on the curl from 3 to the basket this allows 1 to get a step ahead of his defender. 4 screens in for 3 to occupy help on the roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns action from the Utah Jazz. 3 (Gordon Hayward) sets an elbow ball-screen for 1 then rolls to the front of the basket. 5 & 3 then execute a dribble handoff. The purpose of this action is to allow Gordon Hayward to get a step ahead of his defender when he explodes into the DHO as his defender is trailing behind. See More
