Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a little slip action that can be used as part of your secondary break or as an option in your motion offense. It can serve as a counter action if your set a lot of wing ball screens with the first post that arrives. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSome early offense that could easily be implemented at the high school level, especially if you have an kid who rebounds and slashes well. The first option of course would be to let that player have one side of the court to attack early and often. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoastal Carolina used this set on their first scoring play against Wisconsin in their Round 2 matchup. The Chanticleers used this action multiple times adding a few different wrinkles with ball screens along the way. This set starts out in a horns look but then uses back to back stagger screens bringing the ball side guard around on the final screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDavidson is one of the best perimeter shooting teams in the NCAA Tournament. The do a great job of screen for the 3 and then putting pressure on the basket at the same time by using cuts away from the ball and slipping screens. Here is a little action they use in the first half against Iowa to get a easy lay-up and decent perimeter looks. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWVU used this set to start their Round 2 game against Buffalo. The Mountaineers came out and jumped to a 3-0 lead using this quick hitter. Huggins is known for his 5 out motion offense but the use of this quick hitter caught the Bulls help side defenders in poor positioning. The cross followed by flare screen gave WVU and early, wide open 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWVU quick hitter used late in the 1st half against Buffalo. WVU was 3/9 from 3 in the first half and used this set to assert themselves in the paint. This quick hitter uses a guard cross followed by a dive and back screen. Buffalo eventually went to 2-3 zone in the first half to counter the offensive attack of the Mountaineers. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGeorgetown ran this 4 around 1 set throughout their Round 2 matchup with Eastern Washington. The Hoyas used several different variations of the set utilizing the similar setup but unpredictable result. The action pictured is the base set. Dribble handoffs, double screens, flare screens, and back screens were all used out of this based set. Georgetown uses a 4 out 1 in look almost every possession and can run this set with interchangeable perimeter players. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStephen F. Austin ran this early offense almost exclusively in the first half of their Round 2 matchup with Utah. Utah switched all screens which caused issues for the Lumberjacks but they were still able to get quality shots. This early offense uses flex concepts to clear one side of the floor for a dribble handoff. Stephen F. Austin utilizes a 5 that can attack the rim off the dribble to allow for multiple options out of the set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawVCU used these secondary break actions successfully in their NCAA matchup with Ohio State. Defending actions requires great awareness and communication by all five defenders, and the Rams were able to catch OSU sleeping to hit a early 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOhio State ran this modified flex vs. VCU after setting it up with multiple possessions of their basic horns set. After using misdirection, the VCU defender is expecting a second misdirection screen but the 1 only uses one ball screen taking him to the wing. The help side defenders are also anticipating a guard attack or post dive to the paint. This action allows the ball handler and the cutter (flex) the entire side of the floor to work with. During this particular set the flex cut was covered and the ball was sent to the 2 coming off of a stagger screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOhio State Horns Basic. The Buckeyes used this set early in Round 2 action vs. VCU. This simple horns action served as an entry in to more complex horns sets. The buckeyes scored multiple ways out of this in the 1st half. Easy looks for them included a 15 ft. pull up jump shot and an easy dump down to the roll man to avoid aggressive ball screen defense from the Rams. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis counter to the drag play was used early in the second half. Niang moves over to set a drag screen for 1 dribbling up the right side of the floor. 2 clears out to the opposite corner to create space for Niang to cut to on a flare screen. As 1 dribbles middle, 5 sets a flare screen for Niang. 1 passes to Niang for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this early offense play from ISU, the Cylones set a drag screen with Niang at the right lane line. The point guard dribbles to the middle off of the ball-screen as Niang rolls to the basket and the 5 man completes a "short roll" to the opposite block. Hoiberg likes to utilize this short roll instead of a roll/replace action to put both of his post players near the basket for a dump down pass. If 1 doesn't have a shot, he looks to pass off to 4, 5, or hit 3 in the corner for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNCAA First Four set from the Ole Miss Rebels. Andy Kennedy used this as the opening set of the Rebels First Four game vs. BYU. This simple 2 action set uses a set of stagger screens to free up half of the floor for ball screen action with the point guard. See More
