Favorite Send to FastDrawThis 13-14 play from the Boston Celtics starts just like Horns 23. In this option, instead of setting a cross screen to the post for the 3 man, the 2 sets a rip screen for the 4 to a block post up. The 5 man then cleans up on 2 for pick the picker action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play comes from the 13-14 Celtics, and is a simple flex screen-down screen pick the picker play. The action is very common to the NBA, but starting the play out of a Horns P/R is a twist that Brad Stevens added to the play. This sets up the next play, Horns 24, quite nicely. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDoc Rivers loves to get Chris Paul & Blake Griffin in a Post Pick & Roll situation to put the defense in a tough situation. Out of this set, they ran a counter late against the San Antonio Spurs to get Chris Paul moving and attacking off a double screen. Instead of setting a flex screen and then sealing his man for a post up, Paul leaks out and receives a dribble handoff from Blake Griffin and attacks off a ballscreen from DeAndre Jordan. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSet used by Florida coach Billy Donovan. Good versus a wing deny team that gets into the passing lane aggressively. Also a good way to post isolate a point guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribble up the floor and passes to 3 cutting up off of a screen from 4. Once 1 has passed the ball, he flares off of 5's screen at the elbow. If 1 isn't open, 3 dribbles left off of a high ball-screen from 5. 5 rolls and 4 replaces 5. If x5 plays the roll, 3 can pass to 4 who looks inside to 5 or 4 can pass to 2 for the post pass inside to 5. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 screens down for 2 who cuts up and gets the pass from 1. 2 makes the quick pass back to 1 then flares off of 5's screen at the right elbow. At the same time, 3 cuts to the left wing/corner off of a screen from 4. If 1 has trouble passing to 2 on the initial cut, he can continue dribbling towards the left wing as 4 posts up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the right as 2 cuts up off of a down-screen from 4. 1 passes to 2 then moves down with 5 to set a staggered down-screen for 3 in the right corner. 3 cut off of the staggered-screen looking for a shot. Once 3 has cleared, 1 cuts off of the cross-screen from 4 at the left block. 2 passes to 3 or 1 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw1 dribbles to the left wing and gives the ball to 2 on a dribble hand-off. 5 then pops out to the perimeter and gets the pass from 2.5 passes to 3. 4 screens out for 2 then 4 and 5 set a staggered screen for 1. 3 looks to pass to 2 posting up or to 1 for a shot. If 5 has trouble getting 3 the ball on the wing, he can a) pass to 3 cutting back-door or b) give the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw4 again sets the down-screen for 2 in the corner. 1 passes to 2 then gets the quick pass back. 4 screens for 3 and 5 sets a flare-screen for 2. Once 2 has cleared the screen, he turns to cut off of another screen from 5. Once 2 has the ball, he looks to attack into the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this horns option, 1 dribbles right as 4 screens down for 2 in the corner. 1 and 5 move down as if they are setting a staggered screen from 3. If 1's defender jump towards the baseline to guard the screen, 1 cuts off of the single screen from 5. 2 looks to pass to 1 for a shot or to 3 at the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this horns set play from the Trail Blazers, 4 sets a down-screen for 2 in the corner as 3 moves towards the rim. 1 passes to 2 then cuts off of a back-screen from 5. At the same time this is happening, 4 screens for 3 who cuts to the corner. If neither option is open, 5 steps over to set a ball-screen for 2. 2 looks to turn the corner and score or can give the ball to 1 on a dribble hand-off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMid-way through the second quarter, the LA Clippers ran this Horns play against the San Antonio Spurs. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn the first Final Four game between Michigan State and Duke the Blue Devils ran this set successfully four straight times for baskets. The action was very simple as the horns set had a big cross screen right into a ball screen. Michigan State couldn’t guard this set in the first half and it led to Duke building a lead they would never lose. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere are 4 Horns Options from Golden State. In option 1, Curry attacks the high staggered ball-screen from left to right. As Curry dribbles right, Bogut and Lee move down to the corner to screen for Thompson. If Curry doesn't have a shot, he passes ot Thompson at the top of the key. In option 2, Curry splits the high staggered ball-screen at the top of the key for a drive or shot. In option 3, Curry drives into the lane looking to pass to Bogut rolling to the corner or he can kick it out for a 3-point shot. In option 4, Igoudala moves to the right side of the floor. As Curry drives off of the screen, Bogut rolls and Lee pops. If Lee gets the ball, he looks to drive or pass out for a shot. See More
