Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns formation. Dragic (1) hits Morris (4) at the elbow and cuts opposite. While Dragic (1) and Plumlee (5) set the stagger away, Morris (4) engages in a dribble handoff with Green (3). As Green (3) rises on the wing with the ball, Bledsoe (2) comes off the stagger and gets the pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe 2014 FIBA World Cup allows the world to see some of the best coaches and players compete against each other. Croatia ran this Horns flex action for a layup against Argentina. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTeam USA opens up the FIBA World Cup 2014 against Finland Sunday August 30th. Finland is currently ranked 39th in the world. However, they have been playing excellent basketball this summer. Here is an impressive High-Low play they executed out of a Horns set against Lithuania earlier this month. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Lithuanian National Team came very close to beating Team USA in the 2012 Olympics. Lithuania had the lead in the 4th quarter. They ran this play, after a timeout, for a lay up with 2:00 minutes left in the 4th. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDrive off either screen. The post player who DOES NOT set the ball screen, screens away for the corner guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a possible counter action to the traditional "Horns" double high ball screen action. The set is particularly effective if you have guards that are good at moving without the basketball and shooting while coming off screens. The floor spacing allows your guards to read how they are being guarded defensively and to take advantage of curl and fade cuts. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a different take on the ball screen. In this set the PG is the one setting the screen. Most of us practice with the PG getting screened for, thus the PG defender getting screened. Here the defender will likely hedge late, if at all, allowing 4 to turn the corner for a 2-1 situation at the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWisconsin ran this quick hitter during the 2014 NCAA Tournament. It is a simple, yet effective way to get a quick bucket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAtl initiated this Horns play with the same transition staggered screen. This time the the passer recieved a flare screen on the weakside instead of following for the strong side pindown. Because x3 chased the flare screen x4 and x1 both helped on o3 opening up the corner 3 for o1 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStagger screen into Horns sets up a dribble hand off with 1 and 4. If x4 helps on o1 there is no X to tag o4 on the roll because all the help is cleared out. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAtlanta stole a layup on this play against the Pacers in Game 4. A vareity of actions can be run out of a high post entry in the Horns set, but the fundamentals of cutting and passing can never be underestimated as illustrated by this give and go. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAmong the many things the Brooklyn Nets did well in their Game 1 victory over the Toronto Raptors was this great quick hitter set dialed up by Coach Jason Kidd in the waning moments of the 2nd quarter. With 1:13 on the clock in the 2nd, the Nets were able to get a wide open lay-up (Option 1) to increase their lead to 5 points. I added in the 3rd Option to create another scoring opportunity. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Florida Gators ran this Horns post-up play in their National Semi-Final game versus UCONN. As 4 cross/back-screened 5 (Young), the defense fought to take away the post-up from the Gators' dominant big man, this allowed 4 to seal and duck-in easier. To see EVERY play Florida ran in the 2014 Final Four you can do so in my eBook Championship Execution! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKentucky ran this set in their matchup with Connecticut in the National Championship. This was the first play of the 2nd half and cut the UCONN lead to one. The play is made by Julius Randle who drives hard from the perimeter to draw the defense and make a pass for 3pt shot. Aaron Harrison does a great job circling from the corner to the wing for a 3pt shot. See More
