Favorite Send to FastDrawKentucky ran a nice counter out of a normal set they have ran all year. Typically they set a high Pick & Roll and the two men on the baseline screen off each other and read the defense. Kentucky ran a counter for a lob and instead of setting the PNR the big man steps up and cuts backdoor off a backscreen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSimilar to a set play we saw from SMU in the round of 64, North Carolina ran this look against Wisconsin in the Sweet 16. The first look is for the 5 man over the top for a lob. If the lob isn't there, 5 seals for a post up. A weakside stagger occupies any help for the post defender. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a zone lob play used by head coach Jeff Culver at UCCS (University of Colorado-Colorado Springs). The UCCS Mountain Lions had an incredible season going 27-6 and winning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship over Metro State. This play was used to get Derrick White (25.8 ppg) a dunk against a 2-3 zone defense. The play starts with the ball moving to the wing and back to the point guard. With White on the wing, a back-screen is set as he sneaks in behind the defense for a lob and a dunk. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCincinatti ran this play after Purdue turned over the ball late in the second half. It is important that the second cutter curls around the screen shoulder to shoulder. Cincinatti successfully ran this and scored an AND1 off 2's cut - cutting Purdue's lead to 3 with 41.5 seconds remaining. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDown 22-25 to Purdue with minutes remaining in the first half, Cincinnati ran this SLOB play after a time out for a dump-off dunk. Cincinnati ended up winning this game to advance to the third round. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLooking to establish momentum early, the UCLA Bruins used this weave action into a backscreen lob against UAB on their opening possession. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLon Kruger called this play in the second half against Albany. In this BLOB, the Sooners are trying to get an open shot on the perimeter for Buddy Hield. Hield starts out at the block in front of the ball. The play starts with a cross-screen by Hield for 4. 4 gets the ball at the elbow and gives the ball to the inbounder on a dribble hand-off. Once the point guard has the ball back, he sets up a misdirection by dribbling left as Hield cuts off of a staggered screen out to the right wing. 1 passes to Hield for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBelmont has incredible Baseline Out of Bounds plays. In this set they get a quick look for their best 3 point shooter to have the option to come off of 2 screens for a 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virginia continued to stretch their 1st half lead out with the BLOB set making a wide open 3 from the ball side wing. I have seen this play used by multiple teams with various wrinkles. In this set the 3 seals or opens up to the rim. In most cases, one of the bigs 4/5 will dive toward the rim after the initial double screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State ran this side out of bounds play in their NCAA opener against Georgia. The Spartans used this action to get an open 3pt look for the 1, and the flare screen for the 2 is an excellent option, as well. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKansas ran this play in the second half against New Mexico State. The play uses a dribble entry from Mason (1) from left to right. The dribble pushes Oubre (3) to the corner and sends Seldon (2) into the lane and back out to the perimeter. Mason passes to Seldon shifting the defense towards the ball. Oubre sneaks in behind the defense as 4 and 5 screen the bottom zone defenders. In the game, Seldon made the lob pass to Oubre with Oubre missing the dunk, but a good idea by Bill Self. See More
