Basketball Play - Milwaukee Bucks - 21 Mix Fan

Milwaukee Bucks - 21 Mix Fan

Dave Nedbalek 03/26/2018

Although this set is not enthusiastically run, or defended, it is nontheless a good action. The intitial set up looks like it is going to be your basic dribble handoff into a ball screen action, but instead it is a quick pitch to a flare for a 3pt look, or a slip to the rim. Ran with some pace, this could be a really good quick transition action. See More

Basketball Play - Michigan Wolverines - Dive Wing Clear

Michigan Wolverines - Dive Wing Clear

Dave Nedbalek 03/26/2018

John Beilein's Two Guard offense is full of beautiful action and full of endless possibilities. You really need a dynamic 5 man who can shoot and force the defense to spread. This is a simple misdirection action to create a double driving gap. We are using this more and more since the way the game is officiated, and the rules are designed guarding the ball one on one with space for them to create is one of the hardest things to do defensively. If you are interested in learning more of the Two Guard offense, and getting a TON of quick hitters out of it I recommend Tom Jicha's dvd from Championship Productions. Ironically, I have never watched Beilein himself teach this, but we play several teams that run this offense and when run correctly with a big that can stretch the floor you are in for a long night defensively. Basketball Play - Florida State Seminoles - 4 High Slip BLOB

Florida State Seminoles - 4 High Slip BLOB

Matt Wheeler 03/23/2018

Florida State ran this BLOB play after a timeout late in their Sweet Sixteen game against Gonzaga. They had a 13 point lead at the time, so getting a basket here could seal the win. The Seminoles had two options for a layup with 5 on the initial screen and 3 slipping the stagger screen. If both of those passes were taken away, 1 can pass to 2 cutting to the wing or 4 popping out up top. See More

After Loyola's opponents have gotten used to defending multiple ball screen sets, the Ramblers use this play to slip the ball screen for an easy basket at the rim. x5 provides help on the ball screen as 5 slips the screen and cuts to the basket. 3 sets a flare screen for 4 to occupy the help defenders on the weak side of the floor. Basketball Play - Loyola Chicago - Rub PNR Advance

Loyola Chicago - Rub PNR Advance

Matt Wheeler 03/22/2018

In this play the Ramblers use the advance pass out of the pick and roll to get the ball to the other side of the floor. This forces x5 to have to rotate back quickly after providing help on the ball screen. This is especially effective against a hard hedge on the ball screen. If the passes are quick, x5 will have difficulty getting back to 5 who is cutting to the basket. See More

Basketball Play - Loyola Chicago - Elbow PNR

Loyola Chicago - Elbow PNR

Matt Wheeler 03/22/2018

Loyola Chicago runs this elbow action to get its 4 the ball to attack in a middle ball screen. 1 passes to 4 at the elbow then screens for 3. 3 cuts to the weak side leaving 1 as the only player on the right side of the floor, forcing his defender to provide help on 5 rolling to the basket. 4 looks to create a shot for himself, pass to 5 on the roll to the basket or hit 1 filling behind the play on the wing. If 1 gets the ball, he can look at 5 in the post or create a shot off the dribble. See More

Basketball Play - Loyola Chicago - DHO PNR Double

Loyola Chicago - DHO PNR Double

This play was #9 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Ramblers set up this ball screen action with a dribble handoff for 2. 2 then dribbles off the double ball screen from 4 and 5 to the other side of the floor. By having 1 in the corner, this puts x1 (usually the smallest defender) in a position to provide help on 5 rolling to the basket. If 5 isn't available, 2 can reverse the ball back up top to 4 to create a play. On the FMS blog: Loyola Chicago - Ball Screen Offense Breakdown See More
