Here is a play out of the Box alignment that can be used in late game situations when you need a easy lay-up or three. We use the concepts that we try to have all of our screens set to where they cause a mismatch if the defense was to switch. Meaning other than the intial back screen all other screens in this play are Bigs/Small screening each other. See More

Basketball Play - Side Lob

Side Lob

Kyle Gilreath 07/09/2014

I recently watched some video from last year's Brayden Carr Foundation Coaching Clinic run by coach Jim Carr. This play came from the legendary John Lucas and is a very simple sideline out-of-bounds play from the side that gives you a lob. Main goal of this action is to get the lob to 5 at the rim. However, if the defense takes away the lob you have 4 cutting hard to the top for a catch & shoot as well. See More

Dana Beszczynski 05/30/2014

The Oklahoma State Cowboys were one of the most talked about Division I teams at the beginning of the season for their strong start. Despite these setbacks, the Cowboys had one of the most talked about players in the game this season Marcus Smart and extremely athletic guard Markel Brown. This Transition Set runs right into a simple Diamond play and with the utilization of screens & player movement, the Cowboys finally get the ball into the hands of their prolific scorer Smart who sets up Murphy at the end of the play. The Iowa State Cyclones were one of the most exciting offensive teams to watch at times this season with a multi dimensional offensive attack. Here is a "quick hit" Lob play run for their talented athletic PG DeAndre Kane Perfect timing of the cut by Hogue eliminates the weak side help as Ejim steps up to set a back screen on x1 as Kane heads to the ring for the lob pass from Niang See More
