Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a zone set using a 1-2-2 alignment. I love the play because if nothing materializes, you are left with a 1-3-1 alignment that plays well against most zones. The ball is entered to the wing, and the wing uses a drag dribble down the sideline to shift the defense. The ball is returned to 1 who dribbles to the other side of the court while reading the defense. The action is a stagger screen with a slip into the middle of the defense. Our primary look is the slip to the middle, but we would take the stagger if the defense didn't cover it. Getting the slip in the middle opens up many options for the offense - shot, kick down, kick out. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawAny time we had a functional big man, we always have this in the playbook. The play is simple, and provides a great opportunity to isolate your big. The movement puts the defense in a tough spot because the back side help is removed, so if they front, we can throw over the top for a layup. If they play behind, we have a 1 on 1 opportunity on the block. The play gets right to the point of the set, which I like because it limits the number of ball handlers and decisions that need to be made. You can easilty hide weaker players in the 4 or the 2 spot in this play. Favorite Send to FastDrawWatch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this sideline set from the NBA’s Miami Heat. Great design if you have two good shooters; one can be a decoy to set up the twist and elevator screen. There is also high potential for a screener slipping to the rim if their defender shows on the shooter. Send to your FastDraw library using the button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawWatch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this awesome design from the Kentucky Wildcats vs Duke in the 2021 Champions Classic. Lots of great action here: -can run out of transition -appears to look like a stagger -2pt option for 5 at the rim -3pt option for 2 after screening Send the play to your FastDraw library using the button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawTexas Tech took advantage of the aggressive denial of the wing in this play to get a backdoor cut for a dunk. After 4 gets the ball off the pick and pop, 3 cuts to the wing looking to get a pass or handoff from 4. Once x3 starts to deny the pass, 3 cuts backdoor to receive the pass from 4. 5 cuts up the lane to set a fake screen to make x5 a little late on the help. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe UCLA Bruins ran this backscreen play in their NCAA Tournament game against Michigan to get the ball into the post. After 1 passes the ball to 4 they cut to the rim off the backscreen from 5. 4 reverses the ball to 5 and 1 sets a backscreen for 4 to get him open in the post. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawVillanova runs this simple zone action to free up the 4 for a lob cutting from the baseline. 2 cuts across the court to the opposite wing which occupies x3. 5 cuts up the lane line to occupy x5. 1 dribbles to the middle of the floor making sure to keep the matchup with x1, so he doesn't have a chance to rotate. This opens up 4 to take a run at the rim for a lob from 1. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great set to get KD isolated on the empty side of the floor. His length and skillset makes this a near impossible coverage. The gravity of Harden and Joe Harris on the strong side also provides some complexity as to where the help can come from. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a very common action in the Maverick's playbook. This false motion must be honored with players like Doncic, Hardaway, KP and the rest of the Mavericks weapons. This stagger into a ball screen will prompt a switch and the opportunity for the Mavericks to roll their newest big man, 7'2" Moses Brown, into the paint with a guard on his back and surrounded by shooters. This set can be run for any player you would like to get a deep paint catch for. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great set that will take advantage of any ball screen coverage. It is especially effective in taking advantage of switches as you see in the video below. The quick timing of the iverson/rub cut into the middle pick and roll will distort the help to either get 5 on the initial lob, 1 an advantage in space vs. the 5, or the throwback post entry the Mavericks use here. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis a set that can be run in early offense to get your PG going downhill to the rim off the initial step-up screen, get your best shooter coming off a pin down into a dribble handoff, a single side shake to the other guard, and lastly a deep post seal by the 5. The 76ers get lots of bang for their buck with this set. Video clip below. See More
