Basketball Play - 4 Out Carolina Flex

4 Out Carolina Flex

Matt Hackenberg 03/02/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form action used as a 4 Out set. The Carolina back screen and the flex are both hard actions to defend, so cramming them into one play will put a lot of stress on the defense. If you're looking to get the defense moving with player movement and screening, this is a great set for you. Check out this Carolina Flex BLOB set as well. Basketball Play - Carolina Flex SLOB

Carolina Flex SLOB

Matt Hackenberg 03/02/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form action used as a SLOB. This play has so many options. You can look to score off the inbounds with a few options, or run the play all the way through and see what else shows up. The Carolina back screen and the flex are both hard actions to defend, so cramming them into one play will put a lot of stress on the defense. Check out this 4 Out Carolina Flex action as well. Basketball Play - Box Double Corner Sprint BLOB

Box Double Corner Sprint BLOB

Matt Hackenberg 02/15/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a BLOB special out of a box alignment. The action sprints a shooter to the weak side corner with two screeners sreening in. I think this set can catch the defense off guard in a limited number of situations, but I lso like that there is a natural block isolation on the strong side to explore as well. Basketball Play - Stagger Post

Stagger Post

Matt Hackenberg 01/28/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play to create options on both sides of the court - a post up and a stagger screen. The 1-3-1 alignment makes it really easy to run the action to either side, especially if you have shooters on both wings. The more help in the post, the more likely the stagger is open, and the more attention paid to the stagger, the more likely the post will be open. Basketball Play - 41 Swing Stagger Secondary

41 Swing Stagger Secondary

Matt Hackenberg 01/28/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a secondary break action to create options on both sides of the court - a post up and a stagger screen. I like the ball is reversed before half court, creating a good flow to offense. The more help in the post, the more likely the stagger is open, and the more attention paid to the stagger, the more likely the post will be open. Basketball Play - Swing Stagger/Post

Swing Stagger/Post

Matt Hackenberg 01/28/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play for a set to create action on both sides of the court - a post up and a stagger screen. Let the defense choose which they are going to defend. The more help in the post, the more likely the stagger is open, and the more attention paid to the stagger, the more likely the post will be open. Basketball Play - Stagger Post Option

Stagger Post Option

Matt Hackenberg 01/26/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play for an option for either a three-point shot or a post up. The post gets two looks in this action, one on each side of the court. The stagger screen happens on the back side once the ball is reversed. The post up combined with the stagger screen is a great option to keep the defense busy with two productive options.
