Basketball Play - Box-Name

Box-Name

Daniel Murphy 05/10/2013

Isolate your best shooter or driver with this screen the screener action. This is an interesting play because a lot of times the stagger comes on the weak side. This time the stagger is on the strong side, leaving a side of the floor isolated for a drive. This play can be run either to the right or the left. Make sure to practice the footwork of how you want your player to turn after the catch. See More

Basketball Play - Vegas

Vegas

Randy Brown 05/05/2013

This can be run as a play to end the half, game, or to get an open three anytime. 1 makes UCLA cut to the basket. He stops inside the block and cuts up the middle of the floor to catch and shoot a three. 3 and 5 set double screens and "close the door" and free him for a shot. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - Houston EOH Flare-Stagger

Houston EOH Flare-Stagger

Daniel Murphy 05/05/2013

Houston ran this sideline out of bounds play for a layup with 1.9 seconds left in the second quarter of their 105-102 game 2 loss to the Thunder 4/24/13. This play involves a flare screen, then a stagger. The play worked beautifully and if you save this for a special situation could win you a game. Timing is crucial, as Delfino was on the move as Harden was recieving the flare screen. Also make sure 5 turns to rescreen for the stagger. See More

Basketball Play - Zipper Special

Zipper Special

John Leonzo 05/04/2013

Here is a set that is run often by the San Antonio Spurs. This play is great to because it gives Tony Parker the opportunity to create off a ball screen, an option for DeJuan Blair rolling into the post, and an option for a 3 pointer from Danny Green while his man is giving help on either the roll or the post flash. Basketball Play - Shocker

Shocker

John Leonzo 05/03/2013

Here is a set that was run by Wichita State this past season from a box set. In this set, you have a good look to get your point guard a three point shot and if that doesn't get you a good look at the basket, it ends with an Americas play action that will hopefully get you a good look at the basket as well. Another great feature of this set is that it finishes in a 3 out 2 in formation so there is still great spacing on the floor. See More

Basketball Play - Weak Side Pindown

Weak Side Pindown

John Leonzo 05/01/2013

Here is a great quick hitter that can be run right out of transition that Iowa State used numerous times throughout this past season. The quick hitter is tremendous because it flows right out of transition and seeks to put the ball in the hands of your best players (2 and 5) multiple times. Also, this play creates great spacing for your trail man (5 in this play) to get the ball in an isolation scenario if the other options are not available. See More

Basketball Play - Flex Option

Flex Option

John Leonzo 04/30/2013

Here is a quick hitter that is run out of a box set and involves a little misdirection. In this play, 2 is your best shooter and you are looking for multiple opportunities for him to get the ball in a scoring position whether it be off of the flex cut, or off of the pin down from 4. If this play is executed properly, it could be a great asset to add to your offensive arsenal. See More

Double Flare to Ball Screen

Daniel Murphy 04/29/2013

Opening play from the first game of OKC/Houston, 4/21/13, which OKC won 120-91. This play starts with misdirection, running the teams most potent scorer off of a double flare screen. The two bigs then rescreen for the best driver on the team. A shooter spaces in the weakside corner to stretch the floor. See More
