Inbounding the ball from the corner can be a difficult situation. The Nuggets started this play with good spacing to make sure they got the ball in. Once 1 got the pass they ran a decoy action with 3 cutting across screens from 5 and 4 to shift the defense. 1 then dribbled back to the original side to pass the ball to 2, cutting through the elevator screen for a shot. Texas Tech opened their Final Four game against Michigan State with this variation of their box set to get a lob dunk. 2 fakes the cross screen for 3 then cuts over 4 to the wing. This set involves a great amount of false motion that can easily be used to create scoring opportunities if you look to exploit any missteps. Have your players not rush the backdoor cuts especially on the weak side opposite of the big as this is a viable scoring cut. If there are any miscues on the handoffs the ball handler can easily fake the handoff and have a wide open lane to the rim. There are lot of great counters you could run out of this such as turn the last backdoor cut into a smash cut or even cross screen for a throwback post feed. See More

This is a great set for multiple looks. Obviously it is defended well but you can see the scoring opportunities very easily. My critique of this video is the pace with which Marquette runs it. I'd love to see 2 already sprinting as 3 pops for the catch. I also would like 4 and 5 to shape up after the screen as the switching left a mismatch somewhere.
