Basketball Play - "23 Thru"

"23 Thru"

Scott Creighton 04/25/2013

This is a simple but versatile play that allows you to take advantage of having more than one 3 point shooter. This play (which was run by the Kutztown University Bears during the 2001-2002 season) is equally effective vs. a zone defense. See More

This play was run by the lakers in their 118-116 win over the Warrios 4/12/13. It allows your best play maker to set and slip a screen to roll to the basket and recieve a pass on the run to the hoop and make a play. See More

The Sacramento Kings ran this sideline inbounds play with less than one minute left in their 112-108 loss to the Clippers on 4/17/2013. DeMarcus Cousins had a big game scoring 36 points and scored on two inbounds plays with less than a minute left to keep the game close. If you have a matchup advantage it is a good idea to isolate the scorer and let them do what they do best. See More

Basketball Play - Heat DHO Backscreen

Heat DHO Backscreen

Daniel Murphy 05/02/2013

Opening play run by the Miami Heat in their 98-86 win over the Buck's 4/23/13. If you have a guard who is good in the post, a backsreen is a great way to set it up. The Buck's switched the backscreen, but 5's defender did not guard 2 (Wade) closely enough, allowing the pass into the post. See More

The Nets ran this with under 10 seconds left to go in their game 3 loss to the Bulls. Johnson 2 was wide open, but held off on shooting the three to give the ball to Williams who came off a down screen and penetrated. Chicago did not want to foul, so the Nets were able to get the basket, score, foul, and come down and attempt a game tying 3 pointer. See More

Basketball Play - Memphis Horns Rip

Memphis Horns Rip

Daniel Murphy 05/15/2013

First play Memphis ran in the second half of their game 2 win over OKC. This is a great set play that involves backscreens and cuts to the rim. This puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Although Memphis did not get a great shot attempt, there are multiple opportunities to score on this play. Starting the point guard in the corner allowed a little-big back screen and allows the best passes to feed the best post player isolated on the block. See More
