The Sacramento Kings run a basic read and react 2 man play here. Buddy Hield makes a cut, comes back for the handoff, and draws a double team. He recognizes Willy Cauley-Stein open near the hoop, and passes out of the double into a lob pass. Jamal Murray, who is 7 inches shorter than Cauley-Stein, is the rotation defender who stands no chance and fouls Cauley-Stein at the hoop. If you trust your players to make good decisions with the ball, and have size and athleticism, this is a nice action. See More

The blur screen is an effective way to create a double gap in the defense. The pass and cut movement can create a temporary window for the basketball to attack into the heart of the defense. During the Shaka Smart years at Virginia Commenwealth, he used the blur screen as a secondary transition action. Once the ball is swung from slot to slot, the trailer then passes to the wing followed by a cut to ball side corner. As x2 helps on the back screen, 5 dribbles out of the post into a handoff for 2. Because x2 bumps 4 on his cut, he is trailing behind 2 out of position to contest. See More

Croatia ran this Horns (call is "4") set against Lithuania in the first window of the second round of the FIBA European Qualifiers. Set starts off with a little misdirection with 5 screening for 4. Then 4 and 5 then set a stagger for 3. They then set another stagger along the baseline for 2 who comes off the screen looking for a shot. If 2 isn't open, 4 flashes to the elbow for a pass. After the elbow entry, they run a 3 man action looking to create a single tag off the pindown into DHO. See More
