Basketball Play - Kill the Grass

Kill the Grass

Joel Hueser 08/08/2017

Kill the Grass has served us well over the years. We find this drill to be most beneficial when we are working with large numbers of campers and/or youth players. Players work with a partner or a group of three. Our older varsity players will also be spread throughout the gym and model the fundamental skills. They say, "It's not what you teach, but what you emphasize." KTG emphasizes the following fundamentals: passing, catching, triple threat, closing out, ball pressure, shot and foot fakes, blow-by and crossover live ball moves, dribbling, stops and pivots. Basketball Play - 3 v 3 Space Change

3 v 3 Space Change

Jordan Petersen 07/30/2017

Small sided 3 on 3 game. Once the offense secures the rebound they must all get outside the 3 point line before trying to score. Offensively it is important to emphasize spacing and is a good drill for players to learn to find space. Defense muse get two feet in the lane before closing out to man or help. See More

Basketball Play - Transition 1 v 1

Transition 1 v 1

Jordan Petersen 06/26/2017

Transition offense is a huge part of the game. In this game like shooting drill, players will be working on scoring in transition. A defensive player will be closing out on the offense in the corner. The offensive player will have to read the defender to see if they should shoot it or drive it. See More
