Basketball Play - Pistol 3

Pistol 3

Brandon Mullis 08/01/2015

A variation of the pistol action shared a few weeks ago from the Miami Heat from a few seasons ago. In this action, LeBron James would come off a Chris Bosh ball screen and look to attack the rim. If LeBron could not get to the rim, he would look to hit Bosh popping to the corner/short corner after setting the ball screen. See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Pistol Slip vs. Show

Golden State Pistol Slip vs. Show

Craig LeVasseur 05/06/2015

This was a smartly executed play that the Warriors used against the Grizzlies in Game 2. Knowing that the x3 would show against any Pistol Step Up screen, Stephen Curry quickly spun back out of the P/R and reversed the ball to David Lee. Harrison Barnes immediately slipped out of the screen and to the basket for an easy lay-up. See More

Basketball Play - Pistol

Pistol

Justin Scanson 12/24/2014

This is a great set to run out of transition or dribble drive. 1 can pass the ball up to the wing or dribble handoff to 2. 4 trails directly in to set an on ball. This is hard to guard for x2 who is managing a dribble handoff, traffic from 1 and x1 and then an on ball screen from 4. See More

Basketball Play - Memphis Grizzlies - 21 Rip Clear

Memphis Grizzlies - 21 Rip Clear

Dave Nedbalek 09/09/2020

Great early offense transition set from the Grizzlies. This is a wrinkle out of their early offense to get Jaren Jackson an isolated post touch. His gravity will pull the single side open for Brandon Clarke's lob. The original wing is still in a free throw line extended position from the Pistol pitch ahead which makes his defender choose to tag Clarke's roll or stay attached to the shooter. Beautiful timing and spacing in this set. See More

Basketball Play - 30 Series: Down Option

30 Series: Down Option

Irvin Jerry 06/26/2019

The Down Option is our fourth option within our Thirty Series. Again if you can get into Thirty series before the defense is set, use different options and run it on left and right side you can get some high percentage shots and keep the defense off balanence. I encourage you to go YouTube and watch the different ways the Hurry Up/Pistol is ran in the NBA as well as the WNBA. See video below. Basketball Play - 30 Series: Chase Option

30 Series: Chase Option

Irvin Jerry 06/26/2019

30 Series is a secondary break offense that is at it's best when flowing from transition before the defense gets set. If ran at full speed, with proper spacing and effective screens this offense will create high percentage shots for your team. There are four differnet ways to start the offense and it's all based on reads. We want our young ladies to use different options to keep the defense off balance. I first saw this presented by Dave Severns of the Los Angeles Clippers at the Northern Arizona University Coaches Clinic. This is known as the Pistol or Hurry Up Offense in NBA circles. I haven't seen very many women's programs running this and it can be very effective in the women's game. See video below. More 30 Series: Keep Option Dribble Option Down Option See More
