Favorite Send to FastDrawVery creative set by Anwil Head Coach Igor Milicic. This set worked because Anwil have a shooting 5 and a size advantage at the 1. This set is designed to look like a traditional Horns Side action and is to be used against teams that stunt, trap off the ball or show on the down screen - any coverage that enables the PG to get his defender in his back. See video below for evidence of it working successfully! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMarquette used this set to get Sacar Anim driving downhill going to his right hand. Hauser and Howard blur cut to create a larger gap to drive while also possibly running into Anim's defender. Check out the video below. Favorite Send to FastDrawFrom Horns The Denver Nuggets use the dribble handoff coupled with a staggered screen on the weak side to occupy helpers and create a driving gap. Diagram and video below! See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw2v2 Choke is a #PackLine Drill to teach team post defense. "Choking the post" by the guard and "walling up" by the post defender combine in an effort to get the ball out of the post box. By choking the guard reduces the space the post has to make a move. See video below for game application of this drll ft. the Virginia Cavaliers (NCAA). Favorite Send to FastDrawCoaches - if you want an easy two points against a zone defense, add this to your playbook ASAP! This is a action that we have ran as a BLOB with tremendous success. See the diagrams and video in my playbank! We decided to start running this as a half court set as well, and this is what we came up with. Run your best shooter along the baseline to distract the wing defender. Once that happens, the hook is set and we seal the middle of the zone allowing a clear path for a layup. Favorite Send to FastDrawA very simple but effective set out of the Horns formation. You may think this will never work, but the proof is in the video below! This was a staple out of Chris Mack's Horns series when he was at Xavier. I like this action because even if the initial action is guarded, you can seemlessly flow into another Horns action like flex, 45 ball screen, etc. Click for more Horns sets! Favorite Send to FastDrawOklahoma City Thunder needed a 3pt shot vs Philadelhpia 76ers with the score 113-115 and 6.9 seconds left on the clock. Head coach Billy Donovan called a time out and drew up this ATO play for Paul George (3), who made the shot for the 116-115 win. See video of the play below. Favorite Send to FastDrawLoop cuts - also known as Iverson cuts - are a great way to shift a defense. Creating a shift followed by a counter flow can often lead to an open look. This set will almost always get you a low post catch when needed. In the video below, the ball is fed into the post from the slot. in MOST scenarios, I like the ball reversed to the lift which creates a much better angle for a post feed. See More
