Favorite Send to FastDrawNBA preseason BLOB run by the Utah Jazz against the Los Angeles Lakers. Starts out in a high distorted box set. Both bigs set up screens. This can create a quick shot for the 2 or a backside layup for the 3. After setting a screen, 4 immediately receives a screen from 5. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawNBA preseason play ran by the Charlotte Hornets against the Boston Celtics. The screen by 1 will hopefully draw his/her defender to help and will leave 1 more open coming off of the dribble handoff. See More

Players aren’t separated by position, they work together on the same skills for that day. FMS Blog: Player Development - Training Guards and Posts Together See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawIn the stagger split action, the player positions do not matter as much as putting the player with the right skills set in those positions. 1 must be a shooter or playmaker. He will most likely get the ball to create a shot for himself or others. 2 needs to be a good passer. He has to make the read and deliver the ball to the correct person. 3 has to be an offensive threat, which forces the defense to have to provide help as he cuts to the basket. 4 is where you want your best screener to be. He has to get 1 open on the down screen. 5 needs to be put in a position where he creates good spacing for your team. FMS Blog: Stagger Split Action Breakdown See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Indiana Pacers ran this play out of the elbow set designed to get 1 the ball off of a down screen. After 1 passes to 4, 1 & 5 set a stagger screen for 3. 3 curls around the first screen from 1 and cuts to the basket. 1 turns around and cuts off of the screen from 5 to receive the pass from 4. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Utah Jazz ran this play to get Gordon Hayward the ball off a down screen where he can create a shot for himself or his teammates. The play starts with a pick and pop with 1 and 4. This gives the Jazz good spacing and gets the ball in a position where 4 can make the pass off of the stagger split action. 5 & 2 set a stagger screen for 3 on the weak side. 3 splits the screen by curling around 2 and cutting to the basket. 2 then cuts off the screen from 5 to receive the pass from 4. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics start this play set up in a staggered screen with 1 & 5 screening for 2 at the free throw line. 2 curls around the first screen from 1 and cuts to the rim. 1 then turns around and cuts off of the screen from 5. 3 looks to pass to 2 at the rim, then 1 off of the screen. If those options aren't available, 5 pops up top for a safety option. 4 stays in the corner for spacing. Blog Post: Offensive Actions Breakdown - Stagger Split See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawSLOB "Spain" pick-and-roll action from CSKA Moscow. The movement on the handoff from 3/2 and 4 clearing to the corner after the down screen forces the defense to shift. This flows into a "Spain" pick-and-roll action where the defense is out of position to defend the action from all the movement. See More
