06/29/2013The Spurs ran this at 9:20 of Q3 in game 7. The play was designed for a dribble hand off between Duncan and Manu but James stepped in between to break the hand off up. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawRan by the Heat at the 9:30 mark of Q3. The Spurs switched the hand off but Chalmers was still able to drive to the basket and get fouled. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Atlanta Dream ran this set a couple times in their 78-77 win over the CT Sun 6/23. After the cross screen 2 would come off a double or elevator. You can move your personel around to get them the ball in different spots by starting with a small on big cross screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe WNBA's San Antonio Stars ran this sideline out of bounds play earlier in the week. As you all know, I am a big fan of zipper actions but this play adds a new wrinkle that I have yet to think about. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a defensive drill that during my three years at Cleveland State we did a multiple times a week. It incorporates a lot of things and teaches/practices fundamentals while letting the guys get after it and be competetive. The back tip and convert drill allows you to learn how to back tip the ball properly and then transition immediatly into offense so you work on your 2 on 1 breaks. The key to this drill is the back tipper needs to sprint, and tip the ball up with his inside hand. Don't reach, just run the floor and tip the ball. A really great defense to offense drill while teaching a unique skill. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOpening play of the second half ran by Miami in their game 7 win. The Spurs defended the first three actions well but the spacing and ball movement led to a James drive and dish to a cutting Bosh. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother series Atlanta ran in their win over the Sun on 6/23. The set begins with a simple cross screen and from there the ball can go inside or outside. The key to the play is Atlanta has a versitile Olympian at the 4. She's a 6'1 guard/forward who can finish inside, shoot the three or drive the ball to the basket. The cross screen-rip screen post iso was an effective way to get the ball in the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat run a lot of stuff to get Lebron James a catch in the middle of the floor. Here they use a zipper action to clear out Chalmers or Cole and to get the ball to James. The PG runs off an Iverson cut after giving the ball up to James to clear the side. The 2 man in this case Wade would come ball screen after setting the Iverson and then spread to the opposite side of the floor. If James still hasn't created anything the 4 man, Chris Bosh after setting his Iverson screen would come over and set a ball screen with the entire left side of the floor cleared for a 2 man game. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat run this set a lot with Lebron James playing the 3 position, having the 4 set a down screen for 1 who sprints up to set a ball screen for James. Indiana switched this a lot in the ECF giving James a favorable match up against either Hill or Augustin. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is another late shot clock play that was run in Calipari's first year at Kentucky. This set is a good one to run if you have a point guard that can create off the dribble and a post that can dominate inside. Very quick and easy action. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs ran this set at the 7:23 mark of Q4 in their game 5 win over the Heat. This play starts off similarly to Tom Izzo's "Chest" play. Duncan cuts to the top of the key to give a 2-3 look at the start of the play. MSU will have the wings down screen the guards. Here the Spurs had Green set the first of 3 screens for Parker. When Parker catches the ball on the curl, Duncan turns to set a ball screen but Parker catches and drives for the floater. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat do a fantastic job of getting the ball to the elbow in pressure/clutch situations. Here are two plays the Heat ran against the Indiana Pacers in the ECF from the Sideline out of bounds to get elbow catches. One entry turns into their most successful play the FT Line Back Screen two man game between Wade & Bosh with Lebron having the ball. The other set was how Miami won G1 as Lebron had an isolation from the elbow. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawQuick hitting play for 5. 3 uses double screen from 2-4 and catches on the right wing. 2-4 continue across the lane and double screen for 5. 5 cuts low and catches in the paint to score. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play that John Calipari ran in his first year at Kentucky. This was a great set for that team because of where it placed their extremely talented players. You had 5 (Cousins) in the post, 1 (John Wall) attacking off the ball screen, and 2 (Eric Bledsoe) coming off of the stagger. They would run this at the end of the shot clock to get a good look.
