Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play uses false screening action to set up a right side isolation opportunity for 3. On 1's dribble out to left wing, 3 uses 4-5 screen to get open on top. On the catch, 2 cuts under basket to left corner. 4 and 5 screen for 2 to occupy their defenders as 3 drives down the lane to score one on one. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Pacers ran this play in the 3rd quarter of their game 5 loss to the Heat. Because George is a enough of a threat to shoot the 3 and can drive Hibberts man has to stay with George coming off the screen. Hibbert then rolls down the middle of the lane to recieve a pass from West who replaced him. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAs tweeted by Kyle Gilreath, the Heat have been running an elbow clinic. His elbow diagrams are excellent and this is another option to add to your playbook. The Heat ran this in their 30 point 3rd quarter. Haslem stepped up big in game 5 scoring 16 points on 8-9 shooting. He hit shots from the short corner, got a catch and rip for a dunk and because the defense had to respect his jump shot is involved in the drive and kick game . See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play comes from the standard shuffle - double action. On ball reversal 3 shuffles off 1's back screen for an open look in the paint. 1 immediately back screens for 5 for the weak side lob pass. Give it a try! See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Pacers ran this great action just before halftime in Game 5 of the 2013 ECF versus the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, David West missed the lay-up. The play worked so well because West's defender (Bosh) lost track of him cutting baseline and the screener's defender (Anderson) did not open up to help, allowing West to seal him under the basket. Favorite Send to FastDrawThere is no better way to end the week than with one last zipper action from the Indiana Pacers. They ran this play versus the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the ECF. The Pacers have had much success in pick & roll situations finding Hibbert on the role for points in the paint. This is an excellent way to set up a pick & roll for Hibbert. By placing a shooter (3) in the corner it makes helping on the roll of 5 harder because if the defense sags in a talented point guard will throw back to 3 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTrying to head into halftime with much needed momentum in Game 5 of the ECF versus the Miami Heat, Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel drew up this action that worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, David West missed the point blank lay-up. What made this play so successful was that Chris Bosh (guarding West) fell asleep ball watching and didn't see West cut behind his head. Favorite Send to FastDrawOn Wednesday I posted a zipper action the Pacers have been running all year long and throughout the Playoffs. Last night in Game 5 of the ECF versus the Miami Heat, the added this wrinkle to put George Hill into a side pick & roll. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawI figured with so many people doing one set and one drawing, I wanted to offer something different. After reviewing all four games of the Western Conference Finals between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs I looked at actions that were successful and one's that didn't have quite as much success. I started with the Memphis Grizzlies. The play diagrams below are drawn for multiple plays with the play name titled directly on top of the court frame. These play diagrams are in order with the video you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hYblZmLbIM&feature=youtu.be This way you can view the video and look at the play diagrams while the video is running. I hope you enjoy looking at the Memphis Grizzlies WCF Playbook. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTip plays from Mike Fratello's time with Memphis. If you have a good idea you are going to win the tip then try to run either of these. If you're a pressing team it's great to get a quick score, set your press up right away and try to get a quick turnover to start the game with great momentum. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawMemphis ran this play at the 2:25 mark of the first quarter in their 93-104 OT loss in game three to the Spurs. After the reject of the ball screen, 1 dragged 5's defender out so 5 was wide open at the nail (midlle of the free throw line). Instead of giving Gasol the wide open free throw line jumper, Pondexters man rotated from the weakside corner to guard Gasol. Gasol reversed the ball to the corner for the wide open three point shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a quick hitter against the zone that St. Louis ran this past season. This is an effective set because of the stress it places on the strong side defender on the block whether or not to stay home or to guard the corner to prevent a 3. If the point guard reads the defender properly, this set should lead to an uncontested lay-up or three point shot. See More
