Basketball Play - Russia - Misdirection STS BLOB

Russia - Misdirection STS BLOB

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 08/10/2018

Misdirection BLOB from Russia Coach Sergey Bazarevich in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. Plays starts with 4 screening 3 to open space to receive a safety pass. Instead of receiving the safety, 4 cuts hard towards the inbounder. 2 (shooter) fakes to set a back screen for 4 and creates the misdirection. 2 then curls off a back screen from 5 for an open jump shot. Basketball Play - France - False Drag Pistol

France - False Drag Pistol

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 08/05/2018

France use a false drag screen in early offense to loosen pressure on the PG, who then enters DHO with 3. 5 times the PNR for pistol action (DHO into PNR). 4 clears to the weak side corner and 3 lifts to the wing. 4 also has the option of flare and hammer screens. Basketball Play - Doornekamp Action STS BLOB

Doornekamp Action STS BLOB

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 08/04/2018

Nice set using Basketball Immersion's "Doornekamp Action" - a term for fake lifting for the safety pass and then cutting basket cutting, as 4 does in this set. Use a shooter as the back screener and clear the lane by placing 5 in the ball side corner and lifting the wing out of the weak side corner. This set works for all ages and abilities, and should result in an open shot or a switch to attack. More from Diccon: The Evolution of Spain PNR in International Basketball See More

Basketball Play - Canada - Force Curl STS BLOB

Canada - Force Curl STS BLOB

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 08/04/2018

Effective and simple BLOB play by Canada Coach Jay Triano. Use this play with players of all ages if you have a shooter that can release quickly. This play works off the basis that by force-curling the first screen, your shooter effectively uses the cutter's defender as a second moving screen, and because the offense is cutting to the basket, the inbounder's defender must shade basket side - leaving the passing lane open. Basketball Play - Pinar Karsiyaka - Motion Weak Cross

Pinar Karsiyaka - Motion Weak Cross

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 04/23/2018

Cross Screen option out of Pinar Karsiyaka Head Coach Aleksandar Trifununovic's iteration of Spurs "Motion Weak". Karsiyaka run this to get DJ Kennedy in the post but it can be used with a big. Karsiyaka will mask this entry by having the 5 start on the FT line and set back sreens before flashing for the reversal. Play can also end with an empty corner PNR instead of a post up. See More
