This is the very common horns flex action that most teams run. Romelo Trimble runs through the two high post bigs and for the flex cut and returns to the top for a dribble handoff. The flex cutter then uses and staggered screen on a zipper cut to catch and shoot.
One of Head Coach Mark Turgeon's go to plays! An excellent motion set, perfect for a team if one player on the floor isn't neccessarily a ball handler. The set ends with a ball screen on defenders who are already scrambling and out of position.
These are a pair of plays the UVA Cavaliers ran against Cal on 12/22/2015. What makes this set so great is that they were both run out of time outs with a minute or less left in OT and had progreession. The defense was prepared for the second time, however UVA added another action when the initial look was not open. Hat Tip to @coachmurphhoops for the find.
After Time Out set the Charlotte Hornets ran to get a look for the inbounder. After setting a backscreen, the point guard Jeremy Lin curls off a screen to recieve the ball if the initial action is unsuccessful.
