Dwane Casey ran this action last year as a single-double for Terrence Ross. Ross was one of the team's go-to scorers when DeRozan was on the bench, and this play utilized his three-point threat.
- Horns formation. Lowry (1) dribbles towards Ross's (3) side. Valanciunas (5) raises to the top of the key for the throwback; Johnson (4) dives to the post. Lowry (1) hits Valanciunas (5), who looks for the hi-lo initially.
- Valanciunas (5) then engages in a dribble handoff with Vasquez (2) on the wing. That triggers Ross (3) to cut baseline underneath Johnson (4).
- Lowry (1) converges and the single-double is set for Ross (3). Vasquez (2) hits him on either side he goes to; Lowry (1) balances the floor to the opposite side.
