Our base zone offense was a 4-Out alignment with our 5 player on the baseline behind the zone. The guards were to pass and cut to heart of the defense, and then take a step back towards the ball. If they don't get the ball, they are to vacate to the open side. We wanted movement on the perimeter with a constant revolving middle player, and penetration into the gaps.

"Z-Motion" vs 2-3 or 3-2 Zone
5 has freedom of movement to prowl the baseline or screen the bottom defenders. He stays low to offensive rebound and finish. The guards pass and cut through the middle of the defense, taking 2 steps back towards the ball into the vacated gap. They replace to the weak side and try to seal the forward on their way out
