The Chicago Bulls ran this lob play during the 2014/2015 NBA season. Dunleavy (41% 3-point shooter) acts as a decoy and the whole defense goes ball watching. With a little luck and proper timing, the back screen does the service to get Butler open on his way to the basket.
FRAME 1:
- 2 (DUNLEAVY) FLARES OVER 3 (BUTLER) AND 5 (GASOL)
- 4 (NOAH) SETS A PIN DOWN FOR 2 (DUNLEAVY)
- 1 (ROSE) PASSES TO 2 (DUNLEAVY)
FRAME 2:
- 5 (GASOL) SETS A BACK SCREEN FOR 3 (BUTLER)
- 3 (BUTLER) CUTS TO THE BASKET
- 2 (DUNLEAVY) THROWS A LOB PASS TO 3 (BUTLER)
