Favorite Send to FastDrawCreative ball screen set ran by the Boston Celtics this season. Boston used this action to flow into an elbow ball screen for a guard who had a stretch 4 replacing behind the ball screen. Having the center come off a zipper down screen is a creative design on an already tough action to guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Washington Wizards ran this BLOB action in Game 7 (2nd Round) of the 2017 NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics' Diamond Zone defense in a short clock situation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls ran this pick and roll play to take advantage of the Boston Celtics strategy of switching guard to guard ball screens. When 3 sets the ball screen he makes sure to get underneath x1 and pin his defender opening himself up for the lob. 1 quickly passes to 5 to improve the passing angle and 5 makes the lob pass to 3. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls became the first 8-seed, in NBA history, to take a 2-0 lead in a best of 7 series. Late in the third quarter, with the Celtics on a run, the Bulls went to this set. It resulted in a wide open 3 for rookie, Paul Zipser. He knocked down the triple, and the Bulls never looked back. This false motion set, leads to a double down screen, which creates numerous options. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPrinceton used this late game sideline out of bounds set, to get a wide up 3. If it looks familiar, it is because Brad Stevens has run this numerous times with the Boston Celtics. This is Stevens "Winner" play, but Princeton ran it from a box formation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe New York Knicks used this play to start a 4th quarter run while they were down 9 in their Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics. 1 has the option of passing to 3 and getting the handoff back or using a ball screen from 3. The two screens 5 sets on 3 provides space to get off a 3 point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe New York Knicks ran this play during the 1st quarter of their Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics to look for a postup for Carmelo Anthony (3). 2 passes to 1 on the wing and cuts to the corner. 3 makes an Iverson cut off of 5 & 4 to go into a side ball screen with 1. 2,4, & 5 relocate to the weakside for spacing. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics are currently ranked #1 in offensive efficiency... Execution is key! Here Celtics run basic Horns Flare - The defense is plugging/corraling the first screen... The Defense ends up switching, Horford (5) seals switch and the Celtics play high-low. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 23.3 seconds left in the 4th quarter with the score 104-95, the Charlotte Hornets ran this late game action versus the Boston Celtics. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDown 3 with 3.6 seconds left in the NBA Summer League championship game, the Chicago Bulls ran this sideline out of bounds play to get Denzel Valentine a clean look at a 3. This play uses the skip pass action that Brad Stevens has used at both Butler and the Boston Celtics in end game situations. The Bulls ran their own variation of the play that started with a decoy cross screen for Valentine instead of the zipper screen that Stevens uses. This action caused the defense to relax, thinking Valentine was covered after defending the initial cross screen successfully. The rescreen for Valentine then freed him up for the game tying shot. Favorite Send to FastDrawA counter out of the normal Indy Rip action from Brad Stevens and the Boston Celtics, this backscreen set is designed to get a layup at the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of the Atlanta Hawks (and Boston Celtics) go-to sets for a quick 3PT attempt. This is a great play to catch the defense sleeping on as you are setting a screen behind the man driving the ball. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhile the Celtics best utilized the Slice series with KG as the trail big, the Clippers prefer to have Blake Griffin start on the block. The Clippers used this setup to get Blake catches at his left block sweet spot. If the post up is not there, the 2 and 3 can play out 2nd side action for additional options. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother set out of the Mike D’Antoni playbook, 4 Pop is designed for a shooting 4. While Blake Griffin has improved his midrange jumper each year, the main advantage of this set is putting Blake 1 on 1 against his usually slower defender at the top of the key. His driving ability makes this play an ideal Slice counter for the Clippers, and an option that the Celtics likely would not have been able to utilize with KG. A clear side P/R with Blake and CP3 is also a great 2nd option to have. See More
