Almost all of the action is false with the intent to get the 5 man to seal his defender to the outside so that a lob can be thrown over the top to the side of the floor where there is no help. What I love about this plays is usueally teams post up the player where the 3 is after 2 tries to rub into X3. But since X5 has to sit outside the lane or touch 5 this is a great set to run in the NBA because the floor is spaced for a nice post up on the block. See More

1st quarter play ran by the Knicks in thier game 5 loss to Boston. Having Felton set a down screen on Melo should prevent a switch. Much of the Celtics defense is geared to stopping Melo, so having Melo facilitate puts even more pressure on Boston's defense. Chandler set a great screen and Felton curled it perfectly for the open jumper. See More

The Knicks ran this play after a time out midway through the fourth quarter of their game 2 win over the Celtics. It involves a handoff, touch pass on the run, and a ball screen. If you have a small line-up, the Knicks were using Melo at the 4 and Martin at the 5, this is a great way to spread the floor and set up a middle ball screen. This is a very quick hitting play, so the timing of the passes and spacing to complete the passes is important. See More
