Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Portland Trailblazers ran this zipper cut flare action in the 1st half of their win over the LA Clippers last night. Portland head coach Terry Stotts does a great job emptying out the weak side to open up the flare screen. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Wisconsin Badgers ran this BLOB play in their match-up against the Florida Gators on Tuesday night. It comes out of a 1-4 low set-up The guards begin by crossing trying to catch the defense in a "switch" situation which would possibly open up a quick hit inbounds pass on the weak side. If this doesn't happen, the 5 man sets a screen on the 2 who pops looking to catch & shoot if open. When the catch & shoot pass is not free, the Badgers utilize the SPNP as 5 pops to the corner off the ball screen looking to catch & shoot the 3 pt shot in the corner. The Badgers are such a disciplined team and execute their sets with great precision. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Denver Nuggets run this misdirection Hammer set to free up a shooter in the corner. The use a flare screen at the top to occupy the help defense, forcing a weak side defender to rotate towards the ball. That rotation sets up an opening in the corner for a shooter to make a cut to. Favorite Send to FastDrawVCU Head Coach Shaka Smart was one of the hottest coaching names in the off-season, but showed his true loyalty to the program that he has built into a yearly power. This year Smart returns a line-up with experience and their offense is enjoyable and entertaining to watch. This Weave action really does a good job using the flare screen, good cutting actions, and a ball screen at the end to set-up a wide open 3 pt shot in the corner. VCU's quickness at the guard positions gives defenses nightmares with their ability to breakdown 1 v 1 off the dribble. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was run by the Portland TrailBlazers in the 2013-2014 season to get Nicolas Batum an open three point attempt on the wing coming off a downscreen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night I tweeted that Doc Rivers is one of the greatest ATO coaches of all time; this play is a big reason why. He drew up this play during a timeout late in the 4th quarter versus the Miami Heat. This play is so effective, yet very simple to run and provides multiple scoring opportunities. As 1 (CP3) received the dribble hand-off from 4 (Griffin), he has 3 main options: 1. Pull-up jumper or attack the rim 2. Drive and force X3 to help and kick out to 3 for a catch & shoot 3. Drive and look to kick out to 2 in the corner if X2 rotates to the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Portland TrailBlazers ran Twin Zipper Flare last season, and again this season, to get their shooters open looks off a flare screen. The action serves as a misdirection by swinging to one side of the floor, then reversing back to the original side once it empties. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was run by the New Orleans Pelicans on their opening night against the Indiana Pacers. Zip 54 Rub is designed to get Anthony Davis an open wing jumper, using his athleticism and comfort on the perimeter to throw off his post defender. Most post defenders aren't used to going over handoffs or screens, and this pattern that Davis runs forces them to do so. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use these actions to prepare for teams that use 1-4 High sets. Teams in our area run "butt screens", screen the screener looks with down screens and flare screens. This is a good drill for coaches to specifiy how they want to defend these actions commonly seen in games. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGregg Popovich drew up this sideline out of bounds play for the Spurs several years ago. As soon as 2 catches and starts attacking on the dribble 5 should set the flare for 3 to time the play correctly. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best for teams with a passing big. Your point guard will have to be able to make shots coming off screens in order for this play to work properly. One of the keys for this play is as soon as the ball goes into the post, your 4 & 3 lift so they are in position to receive a pass if their man doubles the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use is drill to prepare for teams that use flex cuts, shuffle cuts, down screens and cross screens. Coaches can decide how they want to defend these actions. Do you want to switch, go over, under screens? See More
