Favorite Send to FastDrawSet to get point guard the ball on the wing with a wedge. Used if 5's man is going to zone ball screens and 5 can hit the mid range jump shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPlay ran by Miami Heat that sets up a step up screen for the point guard through use of a dribble handoff. x5 has to stunt to the ball on 5's downscreen. On 2's catch x5 will be on the top side of 5. Therefore when 1 uses the step up there is no hedge. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night I tweeted that Doc Rivers is one of the greatest ATO coaches of all time; this play is a big reason why. He drew up this play during a timeout late in the 4th quarter versus the Miami Heat. This play is so effective, yet very simple to run and provides multiple scoring opportunities. As 1 (CP3) received the dribble hand-off from 4 (Griffin), he has 3 main options: 1. Pull-up jumper or attack the rim 2. Drive and force X3 to help and kick out to 3 for a catch & shoot 3. Drive and look to kick out to 2 in the corner if X2 rotates to the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play was run by the New Orleans Pelicans on their opening night against the Indiana Pacers. Zip 54 Rub is designed to get Anthony Davis an open wing jumper, using his athleticism and comfort on the perimeter to throw off his post defender. Most post defenders aren't used to going over handoffs or screens, and this pattern that Davis runs forces them to do so. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWe use this drill to prepare for teams that run the dribble drive to defend some common actions we will see. Teams will run a screen the screener into ball screen, a dribble handoff into a ball screen, and a pitch from guard to guard into a ball screen. Each one of the actions can be difficult to defend, so coaches need to know how to play these. Coaches can double team, switch, go under screens and hand off, the options are up to each coach. Favorite Send to FastDrawFriday night in between watching ESPNU Midnight Madness and the UCF-Louisville football game, I flipped over to the Chicago Bulls game. Tom Thibodeau runs some great offensive sets and Friday night he allowed me to add one more play to my library. The Bulls ran this play with pure perfection and timing. 1 also has the option to throwback to 3 coming off the screen from 5. See More
