Kevin Stallings' Commodores ran this BLOB action during their Super Tuesday match-up with the Florida Gators this week. Vanderbilt's 4-man did and excellent job finding X3 and setting a great screen to free up 3 for an open lay-up. See More

UCF head coach Donnie Jones drew up this play at the end of their game versus Rutgers Wednesday night to give them the lead, and ultimately the win. Jones put the ball in the hands of his best player Isaiah Sykes (2) to create off the ball screen and Sykes did just that. He exploded off the pick & roll and the defense became so occupied by the double screen action, Sykes was able to get to the rim for an uncontested lay-up. See More

Anthony Grant ran this hand-off pick & roll play while he was the head coach at VCU. As 3 comes off the pick he has multiple options of attack: Get to the rim or pull-up jumper Hit 5 rolling to the rim If X1 sags in the lane to take away 5, throwback to 1 Drive and kick to 4 (or 2). See More

Occasionally North Carolina's Roy Williams will pull PG Marcus Paige off of the ball and put him at the SG spot. This is exactly what he did in this play the Tar Heels ran in their win over Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. Furthermore, UNC big man James Michael McAdoo has been unstoppable on offense and continually fed him the ball in the post. Below you can see that the 3 screens McAdoo (4) into the post before setting the first screen of the stagger for Paige. See More

Wichita State frequented this play last year in the 2013 Men's Final Four. The first option is to hit 3 cutting off the post for a lay-up. This is a play that VCU head coach Shaka Smart ran in his first season with the Rams. This play is all about timing and patience. 4 must wait for 5 to clear the elbow before rolling out to set the pick. Furthermore, 1 must also be patient and allow 4 to be set before using the screen. See More

Last night the Florida Gators ran this zone offense play which lead to Freshman Chris Walker’s first points in a Gator uniform. If you watch Florida enough, you know that Billy Donovan frequently runs pick & rolls versus a zone to get two defenders guarding one and put the defense in compromising situations. This overloaded action does just that. What makes this play especially hard to guard is Florida had two point guards on the Florida making them extra dangerous on the dribble. As Kasey Hill came off the pick, not only did he have the options shown below, but he also had a throwback option to their lethal 3-point threat Michael Frazier II. Syracuse than this pock & roll pin-down action in the 2013 Men's Final Four. If 4 isn't able to catch & shoot or create on the dribble, the play will continue as 3 uses the screen from 5. 4 has the option to hit 3 coming off the screen or look to feed 5 sealing in the post. The Oklahoma City Thunder ran this quick pick & roll pin-down action this week to get Serge Ibaka a quick catch & shoot mid-range jumper. Kevin Durant has been on a scoring tear lately, making this play tougher to guard. As KD used the pick & roll, X5 was forced to help to prevent the pull-up or rim attack. This forced X4 to sit on the screen longer than normal to prevent Perkins from rolling wide-open to the rim. This allowed for the open shot for Ibaka. See More

John Pelphrey ran this Carolina backscreen action while the head coach of the University of Arkansas. What I love about this play is by have 2 set the backscreen to 4, a lack of communication will result in one of three outcomes: 1. Lob to 4 2. 2 will be open as X2 helped because X4 was nailed on the backscreen 3. X5 is forced to help on 2 and 5 can flash for an elbow jumper or iso-drive to the rim. If none of those options are available the pick & roll finishes up the play. With the floor spread and the pick so close to the baseline it will be difficult to help on the roll of 5 if X5 is caught helping X2. See More
