Basketball Play - Los Angeles Clippers "Horns Seal Leak"

Los Angeles Clippers "Horns Seal Leak"

Gibson Pyper 04/30/2015

Doc Rivers loves to get Chris Paul & Blake Griffin in a Post Pick & Roll situation to put the defense in a tough situation. Out of this set, they ran a counter late against the San Antonio Spurs to get Chris Paul moving and attacking off a double screen. Instead of setting a flex screen and then sealing his man for a post up, Paul leaks out and receives a dribble handoff from Blake Griffin and attacks off a ballscreen from DeAndre Jordan. See More

Basketball Play - Snap Back 5

Snap Back 5

Randy Brown 05/07/2014

Great set play for a scoring post player. Action starts by 3 screening down for 4. 1 relocates to ball side corner. On 4's catch 3 cross screens for 5 for post feed. 3 screens and cuts into high post. On 3's catch, 2 screens 5's defender in the middle of lane for a post feed on right side of the basket. See More

Lithuania ran this play today versus Croatia in Semi-Final action of the 2013 Eurobasket Champsionship. Lithuania ran some phenomenal actions all game but this was one of my favorites. Even though this play seemed to breakdown the players kept running the action to end in the pick & roll. See More

Basketball Play - 04 Nets Lob

04 Nets Lob

Adam Spinella 08/19/2013

Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins connected on a fantastic alley oop in a 2004 game to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. The play, designed to get Richard Jefferson free at the rim, works well because of the amount of attention paid to Jason Kidd as their star player. His ability to serve as a decoy away from the basket was instrumental in freeing up space at the basket and getting Jefferson's man away from him. See More

Basketball Play - Motion Breakdowns - 2/0 Downscreen

Motion Breakdowns - 2/0 Downscreen

Randy Sherman 02/12/2015

Motion Breakdowns: 2/0 downscreen with a coach is the first drill used in teaching the timing of downscreens. Coach is on left slot with a basketball. Screener has a ball on right slot. Player on the wing (2) will be receiving downscreen. Drill begins with a pass to the coach from screener. (Coach briefly has two basketballs) Screener must basket cut by stepping hard with near foot (you want the defense to jump ball side so you have clear path and screening angle.) Cutter begins "walking the arc" to set up cut. Screener jump stops into the screen. TALK! "Joey! Joey! Downscreen" Cutter excutes either curl, back, out or straight cut! TALK! "Curl! curl! Curl!" RULE: if the cutter makes an inside cut, the screener makes an outside cut and vice versa! (concept of second cutters) Coach passes first to cutter then to screener. Work drill on both sides of the floor. If you run motion these are your basic shooting drills! These are your game shots, from game spots at game speed! See More

Basketball Play - 08 Nets Sts Slip Lob

08 Nets Sts Slip Lob

Adam Spinella 08/20/2013

After Carter buried the Raptors and sent the game to OT, he got another chance to win it in the extra frame. Lawrence Frank drew up another lob play for him, once again banking on the defense paying attention to players other than Carter. The misdirection lob play is a staple in SLOB situations, and Carter does a great job selling the screen to set it up. See More

Basketball Play - 35 Snug

35 Snug

Adam Spinella 12/04/2014

Dave Joerger used this play to utilize Tayshaun Prince well. Prince is a good ball-handler for a forward but lacks an outside shot; using him in the pinch post helped him find production on the court. The Grizzlies would run the play on this side of the floor almost exclusively so that Prince could dribble towards the dribble with his strong hand (his left hand). See More

Basketball Play - Heat Zipper Iverson Ball Screen

Heat Zipper Iverson Ball Screen

Kevin Bruinsma 06/27/2013

The Miami Heat run a lot of stuff to get Lebron James a catch in the middle of the floor. Here they use a zipper action to clear out Chalmers or Cole and to get the ball to James. The PG runs off an Iverson cut after giving the ball up to James to clear the side. The 2 man in this case Wade would come ball screen after setting the Iverson and then spread to the opposite side of the floor. If James still hasn't created anything the 4 man, Chris Bosh after setting his Iverson screen would come over and set a ball screen with the entire left side of the floor cleared for a 2 man game. Basketball Play - Maryland Terrapins

Maryland Terrapins

Dana Beszczynski 11/13/2012

This play comes from the game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Kentucky Wildcats. This was a set Maryland used early in the game looking to free Dez Wells at the top of the key for a jumper. Easy to set-up and run, a great set for either a post-up 4 man or a strong shooting 3. See More

Basketball Play - Boomerang Quick

Boomerang Quick

Kyle Gilreath 03/11/2015

The Dallas Mavericks ran this quick hitter in transition last night vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. This boomerang action is excellent to run vs teams that are very good pick & roll defenders. *Boomerangs are actions that quickly change flip back to the same side with an immediate return pass. Basketball Play - KORVER 3PT

KORVER 3PT

Jens Hakanowitz 01/20/2015

This is one out of Coach Budenholzer's playbook. A set designed to give Kyle Korver a shot from the 3-point line. Korver sets multiple screens before going on his way to get open. This makes his defender tired and tough for him to trail. See More
