Basketball Play - 14 Quick

14 Quick

Kyle Gilreath 09/26/2013

The Miami Heat ran this quick hitter last season during the Playoffs to get Chris Bosh a shot off a misdirection. As Wade took one dribble past the pick from Lebron, he quickly turned and fired to Bosh who slipped in behind Haslem. See More

Basketball Play - Rhody Exchange Up

Rhody Exchange Up

Kyle Gilreath 01/10/2014

The last Rhody play for this weak creates more movement amongst the bigs and results in a middle pick & roll. As 4 uses the screen from 5, 1 should look at 4 for a second as he could be open. However, that is a tough passing angle so more than likely 1 will keep it. (If you want to feed 4, 1 should quickly advance to 3 for a wing post feed). By having 5 set a screen for a player to the rim the goal is to get X5 to help momentarily and cause him to be late on the pick & roll. As a result, you will have three options of a attack: 1. 1 attacking the rim 2. 1 throwing back to 5 at the free-throw line for a jumper 3. X2 helps on penetration and kick to 2 for a shot See More

Basketball Play - Zipper Go Back

Zipper Go Back

Adam Spinella 08/22/2013

The Dallas Mavericks used the same "curl" structure when trying to get a lob for Shawn Marion. Coaches simply run the player they want to lob off a downscreen, then have him curl back around towards the rim - and Rick Carlisle did this at the end of a preseason game. This particular of play is called "Zipper Go Back". See More

Basketball Play - Over/Under Entry

Over/Under Entry

Kevin Bruinsma 06/03/2013

This play set comes from the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit between Team USA and Team World which took place at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The World team ran this set a few times getting baskets multiple times. It allows your play makers (In their case the wings) the ability to read the defense, run off a screen in whichever direction they chose and then have a chance to attack the basket with their defender trailing them. If the defender catches up, then you have a side ball screen option. A very simple & easy set that Team World ran very well. See More

Basketball Play - Getting open vs. tough defense

Getting open vs. tough defense

Tom Kelsey 10/05/2012

The defense will overplay this drill. Offense is not allowed to go back door. The offensive player has a goal of catching in the operational area (FT extended, on the 3 point line). Once receiving the ball in the operational area there are more opportunities to score or make a play. 3 ways to get open. A lot of this footwork is from Pete Newell and his Big Man Camp video. Basketball Play - Flat

Flat

Bert DeSalvo 02/24/2014

Franklin Pierce MBB ran this flat ball screen set vs the University of New Haven on 1-18-14. The weak side is cleared so the DHO action in this set allows the dribbler who receives the handoff to get into the paint with ease. See More

Basketball Play - SLOB - Slice/Loop with Ball Screen & Counter

SLOB - Slice/Loop with Ball Screen & Counter

Basketball HQ 08/29/2012

This set was run by the Chicago Bulls in the 2006-2007 season. This set is designed to get you two isolation opportunites for your 2 man. Once he inbounds the ball and makes his procut to the opposite wing, and if he can not create off of that action, he has a big coming to set him a side ball screen. For this play to work, your 2 has to be able to score off of the dribble. See More
