The Miami Heat realized the San Antonio Spurs were sitting on certain baseline out of bounds plays after playing them 7 straight times and decided to throw a different wrinkle at them. Instead of the 4 & 5 setting a double screen for 1 or 3, #1 Chris Bosh set a back screen for the 4 man who dove right to the rim. #1 Bosh's man protects against the cut allowing #1 Bosh to pop for a wide open jumper. Tied 63-63 against UMKC we turned to the side ball screen action against their match-up 2-3 zone they played for nearly 40 minutes. The key was a great screen by #4 Amiker, which eliminated the ball defender. The weakside guard of their zone had to stop our ball handler, #11 Cole in a tie game, who then kicked it to our shooter, #10 Keene on the left wing. The bottom man of the zone didn't want to leave another shooter, #1 Plummer in the corner of the floor so the top defender tried to stop ball and then recover to contest the shot. See More

Rhody back is another simple yet very effective screen the screener post-up play to run after using a rhody cut. In the play below, have 1 delay his dribble to the wing until 2 almost reaches the point of the screen from 4. This will occupy X4 for a second before being hit with the backscreen. If X3 and X4 do a poor job communicating on the backscreen and overload to the post, 3 will be open after the pin down from 5. See More
