About This Play/Drill

There's essentially no way to defend Stephen Curry when he runs all over the court like he does in this play. The attention that Thompson gets on the X-cut is enough to score off of an action with Curry. But when the ball skips to the opposite side and Curry cuts under Draymond Green to the baseline, it is natural for the defender to want to get between Curry and the ball -- only allowing him to get screened as Steph goes through the elevator.

  • 4 (Green) sets a brush screen for 5 (Bogut) to get to the elbow-extended and get an entry pass from 1 (Curry)

  • After the pass, 1 (Curry) and 2 (Thompson) scissor over the top of 5 (Bogut) at the high post. Thompson clears thru, while 3 (Barnes) raises and gets the swing pass.

  • While 3 (Barnes) dribbles to center the ball, 1 (Curry) loops through to the baseline, then back through an elevator from 4 (Green) and 5 (Bogut)
