About This Play/Drill

Tony Bennett is a rising star in the ranks of DI Coach's.

The Cavaliers get a lot of credit for their number ranked defense, but their offense is like a machine running smoothly throughout the 40:00 of action.

This Motion Offense utilizes the flare screen to keep the wheel moving as the Cavs look for either an open shooter or take advantage of penetration opportunities.

The Cavaliers have it rolling and next up is Michigan State in the Sweet 16!!

  • Basketball Play - UVA Motion
  • Basketball Play - UVA Motion

  • 1 (Perrantes - 23) makes the entry pass to 3 (Harris - 12) and receives a back screen from 5 (Toby - 10) flashing up from the post

    As the 5 man is flashing high:

    2 (Brogdon - 15) cuts baseline off the single low block screen from 4 (Mitchell - 25)

    3 (Harris - 12) passes to 2 (Brogdon - 15) coming off the screen
  • 3 (Harris - 12) cuts off the flare screen set by 5 (Toby - 10) as 1 (Perrantes - 23) cuts baseline off the single low block screen

    2 (Brogdon - 15) dribbles up to create space for the cut
  • 2 (Brogdon - 15) passes to 1 (Perrantes - 23) and receives the flare screen from 5 (Toby - 10)

    1 (Perrantes - 23) dribbles and passes to 2 (Brogdon - 15) off the flare

    3 (Harris - 12) cuts baseline to the short corner

    4 (Mitchell - 25) flashes up the lane line to the elbow
  • 2 (Brogdon - 15) rejects the SPNR from 5 (Toby - 10) and looks to attack the open side
  • 1 (Perrantes - 23) passes inside to 4 (Mitchell - 25) and sets a G-F screen for 3 (Harris - 12) who comes off looking for a possible kick-out catch & shoot action
