About This Play/Drill

During my time at Lutheran Westland High School, I ran a lot of 1-4 action. Our best shooter was our 3 and we used 1-4 High and low to free him.

This 1-4 high set allowed for us give our 3  multiple options. After the 3 gets the DHO, options are to dive to the basket or kick the ball to the 4 in the ball side corner or the 1 or 2, depending on where the help comes from.

  • A basic High 1-4 set. The five will set a basic side screen. and pop open, the 1 will DHO to the open 3. if the DHO is not open, the 1 can drive and pop to the 5.

  • On the DHO the 3 should drive hard to the basket looking for the help on the drive and kick to the open player 2 or1 for an open 3 the four can drop to the basket as well.
