About This Play/Drill

This secondary action is from IBCA Assistant Executive Director and Reavis HS coach, Jim Tracy. Add this to the end of your fast break to gain an advantage before the defense is set.

  • Basketball Play - Secondary Blast

    From our secondary break spots, 4 will set a ball screen for 1. 1 takes two dribbles past the screen. 5 looks to post ball side above the block.

  • Basketball Play - Secondary Blast

    1 looks to reverse the ball immediately to 4. 4 then passes to 2, who looks to 5. 5 should have the defender sealed from the ball having been brought to the opposite side. 3 sets defender up for a high cut.

  • Basketball Play - Secondary Blast

    2 should enter the ball to 5 in the post if open. 2's next look will be to 3 who has come off the staggered double screen by 1 and 4. 3 looks to shoot the open three point shot.

  • Basketball Play - Secondary Blast

    If 3 does not have a good look at the three point shot, 4 can screen for 1 or 1 can simply return to the ball to initiate the specific offense or special we want to run.
