Basketball Play - Spead Series - Floppy

Spead Series - Floppy

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 11/08/2017

Iberostar Tenerife Coach Txus Vidoretta runs a creative use of 5 Out, Lithuania Break to enter Floppy. With every action in the Spread Series, if there is no advantage, it flows straight into a Spread Ball Screen. In this case, running the full action means the defender on the screen is late to hedge and the on-ball defender cheats under - leading to an instant re-screen and a dunk for the roll man. See More

Basketball Play - Spread Series - Flow

Spread Series - Flow

Diccon Lloyd-Smeath 11/01/2017

Iberostar Tenerife 2016/17 - Coach Txus Vidoretta. One of the most destructive Offenses in Europe! From a 5 Out Spread Set, Tenerife used Flow Actions to get shots at the rim, hit the roller and kick out 3's. This set is a great way to maximise talent as it get's everyone involved, involves all 5 players moving, multiple screening actions, Dribble Handoofs, ball reversal and offers multiple scoring opportunities. Basketball Play - WVU Flare

WVU Flare

Andrew Greer 03/20/2015

WVU used this set to start their Round 2 game against Buffalo. The Mountaineers came out and jumped to a 3-0 lead using this quick hitter. Huggins is known for his 5 out motion offense but the use of this quick hitter caught the Bulls help side defenders in poor positioning. The cross followed by flare screen gave WVU and early, wide open 3. See More

Basketball Play - 5 on 4 Rotation Shell

5 on 4 Rotation Shell

Kyle Gilreath 05/31/2013

This is a drill that I love to run throughout the season to help enforce my defensive philosophy when it comes to helping on baseline penetration. My defensive philosophy is to keep the ball out of the middle of the floor. WIth that said, when the ball is in the corner I teach my players to direct the ball handler to the baseline halfway in between the 3-point line and lane line. Furthermore, the help needs to come early enough outside the lane and cut off the basket and the baseline. This is a 5 out drill because that is the style of offense we currently run. If you are guarding a team in the post, I NEVER help off the post because it opens up easy lay-ups. That is why is it vital for your help defenders to be aware and in the correct positions early. This is also a great drill that teaches your players how to scramble in defensive situations after cutting off the baseline. Make sure the coach passes to different players througout the drill to enforce the level of urgency and communication in such scrambles. Have your players move the ball around the perimeter and run the offense several times through before passing to the coach. See More

Basketball Play - Point

Point

John Leonzo 04/20/2013

This play is run from a 5 out set and is a great option to run right out of transition. This play gives you multiple opportunities to have the ball in the hands of your best player (1 in this play) and also gives you numerous scoring options going towards the basket. The play ends with a wing ball screen with the ball in the hands of 1 so even if things break down you are still in a good position to get a quality possession. See More
