Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a clever BLOB action. The double baseline screen sets up a back screen to try to catch the easy lob pass around the rim. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set play to create a driving lane, but there are plenty of options before the driving lane. You can score on the back screen, the stagger screen, or even the second stagger screen. Many options, but if none of those hit, you have the clear out to explore. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set play to try to score a cheap layup. Timing is critical in this action, as the elbow passer needs to be able to throw the pass if the hard curl is open. This is a tough action to defend with the defense chasing over the top on the Iverson cut. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set to attack a zone. Using the 5 Out alignment, all five offensive players are on the outside of the zone, giving great opportunity to screen in. This is a chance to create an easy 3pt opportunity. Favorite Send to FastDrawWatch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this BLOB design from the Cleveland Cavaliers and coach J.B. Bickerstaff. This STS action seems like it would be for 2, but is actually for 4. Yet if the defense drifts to 4, 2 will be wide open for a layup. Send to FastDraw using the button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a zone offense set play for a back side lob. I always wanted to have a set or two like this installed for when teams flipped to zone on us on the fly. I love getting a quick, easy two when we see zone. This play has the added potential of really providing some energy for your team if you have a high flyer that can dunk the ball. Please make sure you have a good passer throwing the lob. Video below. Favorite Send to FastDrawWatch the video below as Coach Tony Miller uses FastDraw, the #1 play diagramming program for basketball coaches, to break down this ATO design from the Miami Heat under head coach Erik Spoelstra. Help side defenders can’t not get caught watching the ball as the double step up ball screen occurs on the strong side, leaving 2 a chance to slip to the rim. Send to FastDraw using the button above. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a counter that we use for our BLOB Slice action. Teams load up to help on the double staggered and we set a diagonal screen for the screener. Video clip below. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a SLOB to get into the flex offense. The flex offense has stood the test of time. Every year I've been a head coach we've had a BLOB, SLOB or set play option for the flex offense. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a SLOB to get into some screen-the-screener (STS) action. I like the action overall, but I'm not sure how much is added by swinging the ball and running the inbounder all the way across the play. Video below. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a SLOB set to try to steak a quick bucket. With a solid screen by 1 against a defense that gets through screens, this can work. I like that 1 is the player setting the back screen, loosening up the defense so that they can go catch the ball if the lob isn't there. The lob pass is critical, so you want a trusted passer to making the decision to throw the lob or not. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a set play out of a horns alignment we use with multiple options. First, we use the alignment to let a playmaker attack and read the defense with the horns ball screen, roll/pop action. We want to play off the ball handler, and if we can't create a shot off the initial attack, look to play 4 around 1 with our big to get it inside. Then we look at a couple simple set options that play off of the base action. Video clip below. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a long form play with multiple options from a Princeton alignment and a floppy action to feature a dynamic player. If the player can drive, shoot, post up, finish off the cuts or use a ball screen there are options to do so. We used the play to feature a shooter, but a post up player or a driver could also be used, just different options would need to be emphasized.
