Favorite Send to FastDrawDown by 4 points (26.1sec to play) against the Golden State Warriors on November 23rd, Scott Brooks came up with this SLOB to give Anthony Morrow a clean look from the 3point line! The play worked to perfection, but the shot didn't go in. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls ran this lob play as an ATO play during the 2014/2015 season. The flare screen/ pin down action on one side of the floor keeps the helpside busy, which in turn makes the back screen action possible. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIt was going to impossible for teams to stop Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. With the addition of Kevin Love the Cavs look to be the favorites in the Eastern Conference. Here is a play coach David Blatt ran in Israel. Coach Nick at BBALLBREAKDOWN called this "Flying Death Machine" See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is the opening play run by the UCLA Bruins in their match-up against Nevada the ther night. Steve Alford is in his first season at the head of the storied UCLA program. Alford left New Mexico where he built a winning program and made the Lobos a yearly team for discussion come NCAA Tourmament time. This play is a well designed action run out of Transition as the flashing post takes away thte weak side help on the backdoor action which opens the play. The stagger screen is set-up by the down screen at the elbow for the PG. With a good screening action, the Bruins were able to get an open look at the three right at the outset of the game. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is our entry into the little-big back screen that the Utah Jazz used with John Stockton and Karl Malone back in the day. You may be able to get the ball to the 2 on the first basket cut, but more often than not the x5 defender will be sagging on the back screen, leaving 5 open to catch on the wing. If your 5 isn't a shooter, you may want to change up personnel to avoid allowing that defender to play off the ball and take away the entry to 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a pick and roll action utilized by the Turkish national team against Serbia during the recent U18 European championships held in Latvia. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis may be the Miami Heat's most successful offensive set outside of the ball screen. They do a really great job of getting Lebron James a catch right in the middle of the floor. He can drive, shoot, or wait for the action on the weak side to take place. The action is a big screen by 5 (Chris Bosh) on 2 (Dwayne Wade) so all three of the Heat's big 3 are involved. When the 5 man backs off to protect on 2's cut the ball gets passed to Bosh for a shot. If the 2 doesn't help the ball goes to the back cut for Wade. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTime tested play used at Arizona for All-American Sean Elliott (3). Starts in 2-1-2 set. Guards X the post after entry pass. On ball reversal, 3 uses back screen to post up on left post up area. 2 gets double screen after he sets back screen for 3. Give it a try! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFor this set make your high post entry to your best passing big. Line up your biggest wing opposite corner of where the high post entry pass is going, so if the defense switches guard to guard screening action, you have a size mismatch. Make sure you sell to your point guards that setting a good cross screen will help get them an open shot off of 5's down screen. This play is from the 2012-2013 Wisconsin Green Bay season. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHave switching defenses ever defeated you? The art of screening your own man to get a teammate open is rarely seen. But, it is a time tested strategy to counteract perimeter switching. Take a look at this simple 3 on 3 drill that teaches the screener how to adjust the screening angle to actually screen his own man. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. You want to have your biggest guard take the ball out and your smallest guard to set the back screen. You want to create a defensive mismatch incase teams try to switch guard on guard action. You have to make sure you work with your 4 man on being able to read the flare screen or having your 5 man slip the flare screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good SLOB play with multiple options and reads. You want to have your best guard taking the ball out that way he has the option to cut off the back screen or refuse the back screen and get a hand off. Once you have burned the team off of the back screen you have the counter action to have the guard taking the ball out of bounds to use the hand off with the same weakside flare action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSet good screens and cut hard. Inbounder needs to hit the players right when they get open and not make them wait on the ball. Every basketball inbound play should be seen as an opportunity to run a set play and get a good look at the basket. The reason that this basketball play works so well is because there are multiple screening actions in a row. If you set good screens and cut hard this play will be very hard for the defense to guard. This play is from the 2011-2012 Georgia Southern season. See More
