Favorite Send to FastDrawThis a very good closeout and conditioning drill. The defender is working on 3 phases: Getting into help Stunting the ball Moving on the pass and closing out correctly on the offensive player The ball becomes live and the offensive player can either shoot or drive. Favorite Send to FastDrawA great drill that combines ball screen reads with a SSG. The offense is put into different ball screen situations all over the court and given an advantage. The goal of the offense is to use the ball screen, find the advantage quickly and score. The fiirst progression is that the offense will get one ball screen and one oppurtunity to score. Progressions: 1. Add the missing defender after a set amount of time. (7 seconds) and play it live. 2. Change PnR coverage to work on all situations. (Soft hedge, Blitz, Switch, Hard Hedge, etc..) Favorite Send to FastDrawDuring the past decade, especially after the 2006 FIBA world championship, the pick and roll offense was given a newfound level of attention. The avenues with which you can go down when discussing the pick and roll are endless (angles, spacing, player development, proper defensive technique). Here are the common options which the other three players outside of the PNR action can be involved in. There are definitely more options for the “other 3” but these are the most common approaches teams use today. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw"Box & Break" is a defensive rebounding drill at heart, but can also serves as a sudden change drill off turnovers and a conversion drill. The drill can be regressed to 3v1 or 3v0 or loaded to 3v3 on the break. Click here to check out all blog posts by Radius Athletics for FMS! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUsing four out perimeter spacing we try to recreate game like situations in the short sided game (SSG) format. Here we have our most common actions within our Dribble Drive Motion system. Starting the SSG in a neutral scenario, it is up to the offense to use a pre-determined action to create A) a Double Gap and B) Drive the Basketball into it. Coaches can pre-determine the action or simply allow players to create freely. See videos below for game examples of these actions! Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat for group workouts forcing the players involved to communicate. Instead of just dictating who is shooting & passing, the ball-handler is forced to make a decision based off their teammates communication. Everyone involved in the drill is held accountable through every detail. The ball-handler has to come off with pace and use their eyes to see what's in front of them and their teammate before making a decision. The ball-handler's teammate has to be vocal and be shot ready. The drill will only go as smooth as the players communcation and togetherness. It forces them to take ownership as they must do when they get to the season. View: Mike Shaughnessy #FastModelTakeover - Twitter Moment See More
