Favorite Send to FastDrawLon Kruger called this play in the second half against Albany. In this BLOB, the Sooners are trying to get an open shot on the perimeter for Buddy Hield. Hield starts out at the block in front of the ball. The play starts with a cross-screen by Hield for 4. 4 gets the ball at the elbow and gives the ball to the inbounder on a dribble hand-off. Once the point guard has the ball back, he sets up a misdirection by dribbling left as Hield cuts off of a staggered screen out to the right wing. 1 passes to Hield for a 3-point shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBelmont has incredible Baseline Out of Bounds plays. In this set they get a quick look for their best 3 point shooter to have the option to come off of 2 screens for a 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virginia continued to stretch their 1st half lead out with the BLOB set making a wide open 3 from the ball side wing. I have seen this play used by multiple teams with various wrinkles. In this set the 3 seals or opens up to the rim. In most cases, one of the bigs 4/5 will dive toward the rim after the initial double screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMichigan State ran this side out of bounds play in their NCAA opener against Georgia. The Spartans used this action to get an open 3pt look for the 1, and the flare screen for the 2 is an excellent option, as well. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawKansas ran this play in the second half against New Mexico State. The play uses a dribble entry from Mason (1) from left to right. The dribble pushes Oubre (3) to the corner and sends Seldon (2) into the lane and back out to the perimeter. Mason passes to Seldon shifting the defense towards the ball. Oubre sneaks in behind the defense as 4 and 5 screen the bottom zone defenders. In the game, Seldon made the lob pass to Oubre with Oubre missing the dunk, but a good idea by Bill Self. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUPSET ALERT: Coach Haase called this BLOB play in the closing minutes of the game against Iowa State. The shooter starts at the opposite block and sets an up-screen to start the play. After setting the up-screen, 2 slips in between the elevator screen from 4 and 5. 1 makes the entry pass to 2 for an open 3-point shot on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNC State used this BLOB play in the second half against LSU. The play is meant to get a 3-point shot by running 2 off of a double screen at the free-throw line. However, NC State makes a good read and the point guard takes his man to the basket after 3 clears to the opposite side of the floor. 1 drives to the basket and forces LSU to foul on the penetration. Favorite Send to FastDrawLSU used this play in the first half against NC State. On the sideline, LSU lines up with Hornsby in the corner (3). 1 passes the ball into 4 then 4 dribbles across the floor and passes back to 1. Hornsby then sets a cross-screen for 5. 4 sets a down screen for Hornsby who cuts up to the top of the key for a 3-point shot. It looks like LSU needs to keep finding Hornsby to stay in this game. Favorite Send to FastDrawPurdue runs a nice BLOB vs 2-3 zone. The initial action is not what gets a layup, its the combination of all 5 players moving at the same time. The keys to this set is 3 slipping into the middle of the zone after inbounding the ball and at the same time 5 slips his screen to look for the ball, with two wing players distracting the wing defenders, this action forces the zone to guard either the wings who can shoot it or the bigs inside. Favorite Send to FastDrawSMU used this lob play successfully in the second half of their NCAA matchup with UCLA. Defending this play requires great awareness and communication between x1 and x5, and the Mustangs were able to catch their opponent off guard and convert the lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBaylor's offense had stalled for a couple of possessions and Scott Drew had a nice lob set planned to get a quick score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Joyner used this play against Manhattan on Tuesday night. Since the Jaspers pressed and zoned so much, it was rare that we got to see some man actions from the Pirates. Also, it was rare to see offense ran past the initial actions by either team due to the fast paced nature of both teams. On some dead ball situations and out-of-bounds plays, Manhattan matched up man to man. In this baseline out-of-bounds play, Hampton uses a misdirection by the 4 man to leave the ball-side corner open for 3 to cut to. If open, 3 will take the shot in the corner. If he isn't open, 3 dribbles towards the middle of the floor as 4 starts his sequence of down screens. The first down screen is set for 1 on the opposite wing. Again, 1 will take the shot if open off of the screen. If 1 isn't open, he looks to pass to 2 cutting off of the second down screen from 4. See More
