Favorite Send to FastDrawA set that Xavier got a very easy basket out of due to running multiple plays out of this formation in the first round of the 2017 NCAA tournament. A great counter/decoy if the other sets are run with proficiency. See Staggers and Staggers Curl. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virigina has gone to a flex cut, duck-in this year on the baseline which is very effective. When the Flex action doesn't work, the post players interchange and that Macon (C) and Adrian (PF) both good shooters are from mid-range, the elbow jumper off the wing pass is always a good option. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virigina likes to run this action throughout the game especially with the luxury of having Adrian a true "stretch" 4 in the game. Carter (PG) has the option of either taking the UCLA screen or stepping back for a shot or drive. 2 (SG) Miles Jr. can then curl off the step out screen from Adrian and has the option to immediately come back and screen-the-screener (option in this set as well). The exchange on the baseline makes the defense turn their heads to guard and with Ahmad (SF) a strong presence also on the block, Coach Bob Huggins set play gets a lot out of their personnel. Favorite Send to FastDrawBucknell is a team with players who can play multiple positions, basically going 4 out 1 in and running a hard cutting Early Offense set here. Their hard cuts force the defense to react quickly and the kick-out pass is the most dangerous option as their shooters do a good job moving in space. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis simple set does not look like anything at first look, but what makes this isolation action so effective is the open space Thomas has to attack the basket off the back door cut from Mackenzie. The defense all goes to one side giving Thomas the chance to attack the paint, drop-off to the center or kick-out for the open 3 pt shot if the defense sags in. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMiddle Tennessee State runs a variety of Offensive sets and they do such a good job reading the defense. Here is a signature action whereby using the back screen to clear a side for the ball screen where their guards can take advantage of their speed and attack or hit the big man Williams here for the 3 pt shot See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMTSU became the nations team last year after upsetting Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament. This year as a very underrated 12 seed, they are back once again with a veteran team & Coach who gets every last ounce of energy out of his team. MTSU is one of the best Teams I've seen this year at "reading" actions and reacting off them. Out of this Transition set, they're able to get two ball screen actions which in any defensive scheme, is very hard to guard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis DBL Drag action is well orchestrated as Mason is able to go right into a DHO with Coffey on the opposite side of the floor spreading the defense out. On ball reversal, the backdoor is opened up when Lynch relocates. Murphy with his ability to attack off the dribble drives the ball at the rim to the now open side of the floor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhat makes Chris Collins Offensive schemes at Northwestern are the multiple screening & cutting actions in each series. The sets are designed to get action off the ball keeping the Defense occupied, forcing decisions in rotations which if to late, result in open shots. This set has all those options included and is one of the best sets I've seen thus far in the NCAA Tournament. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawChris Collins has done a tremendous job since his arrival at Northwestern, leading them this year to their 1st ever NCAA Tournament appearance. His Offense has been getting rave reviews this year from everyone who has the chance to watch his Team. This Dribble Weave action sets up to what looks like a double stagger action for Lindsey, but ends up with Lindsey finishing the play on the opposite side of the court with the dribble penetration. Law does a great job coming back off the single screen action when Lindsey cuts backdoor on the baseline. This Northwestern squad is "gritty" and plays with a lot of enthusiasm and effort on both sides of the court! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the advantage of having Luke Kornet in the line-up, Bryce Drew gets creative with this simple but effective FT line screen-the-screener action giving Kornet to step out and catch & shoot. The Commodores run a lot of misdirection and overload actions looking to create driving lanes and shooting options. This set has mutlple options and is suited to a team that can step their big man out to shoot the 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Arizona Wildcats really do a tremendous job of moving their players around in their half court sets. Here is a multiple ball screen action which given the Defensive positioning can lead to a backdoor cut or open up the direct drive to the ring. If the Defense sags in on the penetration, the Cats have their shooters spotting up behind the arc ready for a kick-out pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSean Miller's Arizona Offense is very creative and provides his players with multiple cutting & scoring options. Out of this Transition action alone you have a DHO, Middle Ball Screen, and movement options that force the Defense into multiple rotations. At the end, the ability to have their 4 either step out to hit the jumper or post-up provides a finish to this action which is good for all levels of play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith 3:25 left in the game v. Kent State, UCLA ran this quick hitter to get Bryce Alford (2) a good look at a three, as well as a short roll for their skilled big man Welsh (5). UCLA uses Alford as the initial ball screener, freeing him up to come off a flare screen in a screen the screener action for a quick look at the rim. The 5 will end the play with a turnaround ball screen and short roll for a jumper. See More
