Basketball Play - Transition Hand Off Pin

Transition Hand Off Pin

Matt Hackenberg 04/26/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a transition action sequencing a down hill hand off followed by a down screen by a post player. This is an easy way to try to create an advantage out of transition Visit my Sellfy store for detailed coaching materials written by me - https://sellfy.com/coachhack.go/ Follow me on Twitter - @CoachHackGO Find me on all my platforms - Linktree See More

Basketball Play - 41 Stagger Twirl

41 Stagger Twirl

Matt Hackenberg 04/25/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 4 around 1 alignment. I really like this action, flowing the set one way, and then coming back behind the play for a clever screen. I think this action will produce a shot or a close out to attack if executed well. Basketball Play - Fake DHO Hammer/Clear

Fake DHO Hammer/Clear

Matt Hackenberg 04/11/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at play design for a point guard to drive the ball to an empty baseline. They can decide to drive as an isolation, or to skip the pass to the back side for a hammer set. Either way, the defense is misdirected with the fake hand off, and stretched side to side with the hammer action. This set is gold. Basketball Play - Flare Cross STS

Flare Cross STS

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play with a few different options. Entering the ball to the elbow isn't as easy as it looks, but if you can get the ball there, it opens up some options. The flare stretches the defense side to side, and the back screen into the screen the screener can punish the defense whether they switch the screens or get through. Basketball Play - Chin Re-Screen

Chin Re-Screen

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of the Princeton alignment. This set capitalizes on the normal chin action in the offense to throw the defense for a loop by re-screening to the top of the key. Basketball Play - Back, Flare, Triple Screen Series

Back, Flare, Triple Screen Series

Matt Hackenberg 03/31/2022

In this diagram and embedded video we look at a long form set play with multiple options. You can run the play all the way through, but likely you won't need to because something will be open before then. I like how this series stretches the defense with cuts to the rim, cuts to the perimeter, and movement side to side.
