Basketball Play - VCU Point Lob to Post Screen

VCU Point Lob to Post Screen

Wes Kosel 04/14/2015

The play starts with 3 guards out and the 2 posts inside on the blocks. 2 cuts down towards the low post then moves up the lane line to get the ball from 1. 3 clears to the opposite corner clearing space for a back-cut from 1. 5 sets the back-screen for 1 who looks to get the lob pass from 2. If the lob isn't open, 5 steps over to set a ball-screen at the top of the key. 2 attacks left to right with roll/replace action from 5 and 4. See More

Basketball Play - Duke High Overload PNR

Duke High Overload PNR

Wes Kosel 04/10/2015

In this play, Tyus Jones attacks from left to right off of a high ball-screen with an overload on the left side of the floor. The open space puts even more pressure on Kaminsky to stop the penetration and guard the roll. Jones came off of the ball-screen as if he was going to attack the rim, but instead pulled up at the elbow using Koenig's momentum against him. See More

Basketball Play - Duke Top PNR

Duke Top PNR

Wes Kosel 04/08/2015

With 1:36 left in the game vs. Wisconsin, Tyus Jones hit a huge 3-point shot to put the Blue Devils up 66-58. The play started with Jones dribbling to the left as Winslow looped around to set up for a ball-screen. Jones waved off Winslow sending him out to the wing. Okafor sprints up to set a ball-screen for Jones. Koenig goes over the top of the screen and Kaminksy is moving backwards as Okafor rolls leaving just enough room for Jones to pull up for a 3-point shot. See More

Basketball Play - UCLA to Ball Screen

UCLA to Ball Screen

Andrew Lacey 04/07/2015

Here is a nice little ATO set that can be used in late game situations or when you need a basket. Starting in a 1-4 High alignment can allow for the defense to be vulerable to the back door cut. Nonetheless the ball screen actions will draw a lot of attention and allow for the three on the wing or the reversal and throw inside. See More

Basketball Play - Wichita State Stack Spread P/R ATO

Wichita State Stack Spread P/R ATO

Craig LeVasseur 03/27/2015

Another excellent play from the Wichita State playbook, this coming late in the 2nd half against Notre Dame. It's a double high ballscreen, with 5 setting first and a shooting 3 setting the second screen. In defending this play, because x3 stays attached to his man, x5 has to stop penetration and x2 has to pull in to bump 5 on the roll. This leaves the 2 open in the corner for a throwback 3, which was no problem for a talented PG like VanVleet to find. See More

Here is a little slip action that can be used as part of your secondary break or as an option in your motion offense. It can serve as a counter action if your set a lot of wing ball screens with the first post that arrives. See More

Basketball Play - Georgetown 4 Around 1

Georgetown 4 Around 1

Andrew Greer 03/20/2015

Georgetown ran this 4 around 1 set throughout their Round 2 matchup with Eastern Washington. The Hoyas used several different variations of the set utilizing the similar setup but unpredictable result. The action pictured is the base set. Dribble handoffs, double screens, flare screens, and back screens were all used out of this based set. Georgetown uses a 4 out 1 in look almost every possession and can run this set with interchangeable perimeter players. See More
