Jazz Horns Shuffle Post
02/19/2016A great way to get a drop-down isolation post out of a Horns set. Lots of clutter on the initial ball side opens the opposite side for a great post-up. Good play from Quin Snyder. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was a nice set coming out of a timeout for the Thunder to get Kevin Durant an open three pointer. While it was not the first option (Ibaka going across the flex screen for an open layup was), they ran the progression and Durant got the look he wanted. This set was also made better because of the solid screen Steven Adams set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is an excellent play designed by Purdue Coach Matt Painter out of a Box Set. Purdue runs a pass entry into a UCLA screening action. With the opposite big popping to the TOK, the PG sets a shuffle cut and runs into a double stagger. On the pass to the TOK, the wing then runs baseline off a triple screen to the opposite side looking to make the defense chase. At the end, Purdue runs a "hamer screen" action off a guard-to-guard exchange and as a last option a SPNR into a shot behind the SPNR See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhen you have a post player like Robert Carter and a point guard like Melo Trimble, it may sometimes seem like a coach can run anything and it would work. But you have to respect Mark Turgeon’s thinking on this play to put one of his best players in a good position to do what he is best at. This is a good set for any team, especially ones where a team has guards that have a hard time entering the ball into the post. The combination of the ball screen for the guard and the backscreen for big to the same side makes the post entry easy to make. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFred Hoiberg has run the pitch series for several years, both at Iowa State and now with the Chicago Bulls. Because teams will often sag off the trailer when he has the ball, it makes him the perfect candidate to throw a lob pass. The Bulls run the play to get Jimmy Butler an alley oop with all the extra attention he gets on the perimeter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHaving had the privilege of coaching against Jakob Poeltl here in Austria on many occasions, it has been enjoyable following his career to this point at Utah. Larry Krystkowiak is entering his 5th season at Utah and here is a post-up action run for Jakob Poeltl who has skyrocketed to the top of many NBA scouts lists for his ability to run the floor, soft hands, finishing ability, and shot blocking prowess. The Utes do a very good job moving the ball and getting Poeltl touches where he can use his skills to put the ball in the basket. Here is one of those sets. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawA very quick pistol action out of early offense, the point guard attacks hard to the rim and the hammer screen either opens up the rim on his drive or an open three pointer in the corner. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawGreek professional club Panathinaicos used this action in a 2014-2015 game against arch rival Olympiacos. The movement above the top of key allows the post player a good 1 on 1 opportunity on the block. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawTons of great action to get guard / post 2 man game going. 4 downscreens for 2 out of screen the screener action and immediately into a ball screen. Weakside action keeps the defense honest as 4 can pop or dive to the rim. See More
