Favorite Send to FastDrawFenerbahce ran this "Spain"/Stack pick and roll action against UMMC Ekaterinburg in the semi-finals of the 2017 EuroLeague Women. Instead of setting the back-screen for the first screener to dive to the basket, 2 fakes the back-screen and receives a flare screen from 4. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhen building your playbook for next season, we want to give you some things to consider. For example, do your sets have anything that make them easy to scout? Do they all start from different formations? Is it difficult to flow from the base offense, into the sets? Do they all use the same action? Do the sets lack versatility? These are all challenges, which coaches must consider, and do not realize until they face the best teams on their schedule. The "Elbow Series" below is an example of some sets that check all of the necessary boxes, which make them a solid addition to your playbook. Read More: http://bit.ly/2pbH6L1 See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Spurs trailed the Grizzlies by 3, with 22 seconds left, and had the ball on the sideline. Popovich and the Spurs are known for their "Hammer Action," which is a baseline drift play. After a zipper screen to get the ball inbounds, the Spurs designed a "Hammer Action." Behind Kawhi Leonard's drive, they set a down screen for Patty Mills. The misdirection put the Grizzlies into a defensive scramble. On the pass to Mills, Kawhi's defender left to help. Kawhi spaced to the corner, where Mills made the extra pass. This resulted in a wide open 3 for Kawhi Leonard, which tied the game. In the tough scenario of needing a 3, late in the game, the Spurs got the rare uncontested look. A great design, with tremendous execution. Despite Marc Gasol's game winning shot, handing the Spurs a loss, this was the obvious "Xs and Os Play of the Game!" See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Milwaukee Bucks opened game 4 against the Toronto Raptors with this play designed to get a lob dunk to 5 and help get the home crowd going to start the game. 1 follows the entry pass to 5 get the ball back on a handoff. 2 then sets the back screen on 5 putting the defense at a size disadvantage at the rim and forcing x2 to try to protect on the lob. Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat counter to the common NBA Thru action from Mike D'Antoni and the Houston Rockets. Gets a shot on the wing for a shooter while the defense anticipates a post clearout. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe newest common NBA set this season has been the Spain pick-and-roll, where a shooter is stationed at the nail hole. That shooter sets a back screen for a big man that goes to set a high ball screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat alley-oop counter for the Rockets to get their big man a lob to the rim. False action before hand sets up the Mike D'Antoni action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA unique way to combine two of Mike D'Antoni's most common sets. First is a staggered screen out of their Point series, which is curled. It leads into a Spain pick-and-roll, a unique set that D'Antoni loves to run. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavaliers use one of their best shooters in a screen the screener action to get him open for a clean look. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Grizzlies ran a great ATO out of a sideline out bounds play with two options that led to a Marc Gasol three. The first option is a lob for the guard coming off a back screen and the second is the screener receiving a screen to get them open for a three. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavs were up 5 with 30.9 seconds left and ran this play to help seal the win against the Indiana Pacers. This play was very difficult to guard because of all the offensive threats that were on the floor for the Cavs. The inital action forced the Pacers to defend the staggered screen so as not to give up an open 3 to a shooter (Kyle Korver). The secondary action used the Cavs two best players with 4 (Lebron James) setting a back screen for 1 (Kyrie Irving). x4 has a difficult choice to make. Helping on the backscreen might take away the layup but it would also get 4 an open shot. x4 stayed with his man and 1 got a wide open layup on the play. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens ran this ATO set in the first half of Game 1, against the Chicago Bulls. It resulted in back-to-back baskets for the Celtics. The first basket was a lob. On the second basket, the Celtics ran the set all the way through. The key to the set is that the Celtics used their best shooter to set the back screen, which eliminated the Bulls' ability to help. More coaches should use their best shooters as a screener, when their team is in need of an easy basket. Great design by Coach Stevens! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Boston Celtics ran this ATO in their playoff opener against the Chicago Bulls to get an easy basket at the rim. The dribble handoff and ball reversal actions are used to clear a side of the floor for the lob and get the defense to focus on stopping 1. In order to take the lob away x1 needs to drop and protect the rim, but he would run the risk of 1 getting open for a shot. The Celtics run a similiar action to this play where 1 is the primary option and will get the ball back on a handoff from 4. In this play x1 is focused on stopping 1 and doesn't provide help on the back screen. This gets 3 a wide open look on the lob. See More
